Magnum Plus2 LED 4x4 THCsnow Closet Grow

Ok so I decided to flip them over to 12/12 today after my buddy growing under HID just told me his stretched huge and doubled in size, this should be interesting!!!

We are officially flowering folks!!

Those ladies look very healthy. At what height do you have the lights at right now? Do you know the spectrum and their ratios?
Really looking sweet, good vibes for your project dude

Right now I have the lights about 34 inches above the tops of the plants. I have no idea of the spectrum or ratios, all I know is this magnum plus2 is a full spectrum led grow light that covers all stages of growth veg thru flower.

After 5 days of flower I can without a doubt say that I have never (in over 15 years of growing) seen bud sites develop this far along in just 5 days. If this light finishes anything remotely close I will be swapping out my entire grow with these. I watered again the other day just to even out the bucket weight on a few of the plants and I will officially feed with flower nutes today near the end of the light cycle.

Has anyone out there grown this THC snow strain before? On one of the plants I am getting some leaf curl and I was wondering if this is a natural characteristic of the strain??? Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

Nice. This is starting to get interesting. Do you think its possible that the reason why its so difficult to find successful grows with led lights on the net is because the good growers that have obtained great results wanna keep the technology for themselves, as in keeping an edge over the competition?

I seriously doubt that people "in the know" about these lights would be keeping it a secret. I think it's more of a case that old school guys like me are stubborn and don't like change, lol. (I'm typing this response from my commodore 64 as a matter of fact!) In my particular case I have been hearing about leds around my neck of the woods for quite a few years now, I've even had buddies try them out and get shit results so I haven't really given it much thought in terms of switching. In all honesty I didn't expect to get anywhere near the results that I am getting thus far from this led. I've been down this road a couple of times before experimenting with new lights, T5s etc, and it's never worked out and I've always gone back to what I know works best, 1000 watter hps! I am finding that growing under LED is quite a bit different in terms of nutrient consumption, stretching and plant density (but in all honesty I can't really vouch for density 100% because I have never grown this strain before). Time will tell bro, this is supposedly a 6 week strain according to the creator, although I find that hard to believe. So let's ballpark and say that in 8 weeks we will both know if this is something worth investing in or not. And even at that point I still want to fire up a 1000w and do a second led grow in conjunction with a hps grow under the same conditions. From what I see right now through the veg stage is that perhaps this led is creating more dense plants and bud sites over hps and if that is the case, even if flowering is a total failure, bud sites and tight nodes translate into you know what and swapping out the veg portion of my show might be a reality. But for now, lets just sit back and hope that I don't fuck up along the way and see what happens ;)

Hear that! Ive been on the fence with leds for at least 2 years now. Im hoping your grow will make me finally pull the trigger but again, been here before. So time will tell like you said. By the way, have you had a chance to see how your buddy's plant is doing? The one you showed a couple of weeks ago that was about 5 days behind yours, same strain (I think).

Yeah, he's still vegging. He grows 6 footers last I saw they were around 24 inches and really skinny leaves and not near the density. But then again that means shit because they are in a different environment all together. I have 8 clones rooted and ready to go now under a 600w. I'm gonna see if I can get another one of these lights from my buddy so they can veg 4 under LED and 4 under HPS so I can figure this out, lol.

Im sure you know with your experience. If you are comparing 600 hps to led now. Clones almost always seem to produce more and better than the mother seed. Growing more vigorously. By that a comparison with seed vs clone wouldn't be completely fair. Clone vs clone.....

Yeah I agree, I pulled 8 clones from the 4 plants I have now (2 from each) will run a side by side with clones over a set veg time period with a 1000w HID and one of these leds. The only way to really gauge what is happening. I will also be measuring the runoff ppm to determine what if any % more nutrients the plants under led consume given the efficiency of the light spectrum. Should be a fun few months of experimenting.

Soooo... does that look ppl to anyone else?? lol

Can we get some further back shots? Do the leaves have a slight blue hue to them in person?

1 week of flowering in the history books. These plants are looking fucking awesome, notice how the leaves are pointing upwards at that light, they love it! I was a bit worried to look into the room today after gassing them with a full load of flower nutes yesterday, not even a trace of nute burn. crazy shit!
