Hey can someone explain to me what the difference is between making oil and making tincture? I thought tinctures could be made with oil?
I’m looking at buying magical butter machine to make oil tinctures. I noticed the machine has an option for both. Cheers

Yea think I’ve been miss informed. I see what you mean.
What would be the difference then if I made a cbd tincture then used oil as a carrier opposed to making cbd infused oil?

I’m not sure what the difference would be. I’ve made tincture, and I’ve made oil, but I’ve never made a tincture and then added oil to it.

Yea that’s what confuses me, just wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing something before I get started. A lot of videos on YouTube showing cbd extraction with alcohol then evaporating the alcohol and adding the extract to oil. I figure might as well extract straight in to oil from the beginning.
 
Im not sure what the difference would be. A friend of mine makes extremely potent edibles, and goes the tincture route.
I think figuring out dosing is easier with a tincture, and a stronger end product can be made. Like a little gummy that puts you to bed

The device does do alcohol tinctures. I bought one for my wife a few years back. She loves it for doing oil and tinctures alike. it's safe, and does all the work itself (although the documentation states you need not decarb first, we do anyhow).

The option is for making alcohol tinctures. Even though the device is safe to use for doing so, extreme caution should be taken. No open flame any where near the device.

My wife has one of these, and she absolutely loves it. We used to do all of our oil, butter and tinctures by hand, this machine, although overpriced, takes a lot of the time and effort out of it. When you make a lot, that matters.

Yeah, I know it will make tinctures, too. The answer you quoted was in response to their "What does the oil option on the machine do?" question.
 
I have one, and it was a good investment I think. I have only made one batch of butter so far, and I made it a little too potent. Have to be careful with that. It wasn't even fun, turned the high into jitters and sickness. Thought since I smoke/dab sometimes half oz a day, a super potent edible is what I needed. Guess it doesn't work that way. If I want to get unbelievably high I just take a fat dab. Anyway, with the right dose, it is great. Skip the extra alcohol step unless you want an alcohol tincture too. You will feel the effects faster with the alcohol tincture
