I used a crock pot, but you can use a dbl boiler setup. Also, make sure that you do it at a high enough temp. to evaporate some water, but not too hot. If water is evaporating, then add some when needed to keep your butter from burning. I used a crock pot and put just enough water to keep the 2 sticks of butter floating. Add your weed,I used a 1/2 oz of swiggity swag. Bring to a simmer and stir every 20-30 min. Don't turn it into work, its for you, so enjoy the process. Do this for at least 3 1/2 to 4 hours. The longer the better. Once you feel you have extracted all possible THC get ready to strain. Take a cheese cloth and secure it over a glass with a rubberband. Try to pour your cannabutter in 1 area of the cheese cloth. (the less soaked up means more for you) Once done straining just squeeze the fuck out of it to get the rest of the THC and butter. It may burn you, so be careful Let it sit in the freezer or fridge for a few hours. The water and butter will seperate. Then you poke a hole on each side of the bowl and drain your water from underneath your cannabutter. And now you have enough cannabuttter for more than one application.
