MAC1 Cappy's cut

That ain’t it

Are you certain? Not doubting anything but here's where I got it.

This cut came from a legal grow in SoCal that ordered 300 Mac1 CC from a tissue culture lab in San Diego called ZenLabs.

I agree that it doesn't look as frosty as I expected in flower but the veg plant looks like other Mac1's pictures I've seen. It's veg growing characteristics also matched up to what I've read, slow growth with very upright branches, and a slight edge curl that almost looks like russet mites.

To be honest none of my plants came out super frosty this round so that my be my fault. Also I got a lot of foxtailing this round from the light being a little too close.

Here's some pictures of the same cut in veg let me know what you think about the legitimacy of it.

Thanks

Here's my Caps cut at day 70 of flip.
Ya didn't want to be an asshole but that's not caps cut dude or its not getting run properly- environment, etc. But I have a feeling it's just not caps cut. Look at knobcheese's pic of his cut at 37 of flower it's frosted the fuck out, your cut at almost chop doesn't have much trichome production at all. Caps cut is know for 2 things- it's insane trichome production and smell. Not trying to be a dick but I don't think you have the mac1 caps cut. May be mac1.. just a random pheno, but definitely not Caps cut.

So I think it could be Mac1 for sure but it not the caps cut. Caps cut is a very specific cut. You could have gotten a cut from a capulator pack of mac1 seeds. So it's mac1, just not the cappy's cut. Your fans do look like cap cut in veg but so don't the other plants found in a pack of mac1. I think there a lot of bunk cap's cuts going around.

They say tissue culture cleans up the genetics.. so maybe that's whats going on here..

Yeah I agree on the trichome issue. This is my first time flowering out this cut and I was expecting a lot more frost for sure. I don't think my grow environment could have caused this much difference in trich production. They got a little light stressed at about 6 weeks but that's about it. They never showed that early trichome production that I've seen in other examples of Mac1.

To be honest I'll be happy if it's not Caps Cut as it really sucks to grow compared to my other girls.

Hopefully the smoke is terrible so I can get rid of it. I'll post back after a smoke test in a couple weeks and let you know. ;)

Thanks for all the info.

And I agree with you environment not causing the issue cause you plant looks healthy as fuck, just thinks it not the caps cut bud. Happens all the time- I've grown plants to my best of my ability and some phenos just don't have trichome production

Thanks for the info, I appreciate it. I've had my doubts about her this whole run tbh.

Hopefully it's still a decent smoke, but the veg issues are a bit much. It also clones super slow.

Ya dude that ain't on you...just wasn't a good pheno- trust me I recently ran a very expensive cut and it came out trash....actually the caps cut came with the cut I bought...the caps cut unrooted snip was free and ended up being better than the $350 cut by a longshot. Don't get discouraged, it happens.

I still don't get it, can a science dude like you explain, does tissue culture sometimes degrade the genetics?

Me too. I've never heard of tissue culture degrading a clone only removing viruses, pathogens and the like.

Again not doubting anybody just curious as I've not heard of this before. I thought tissue culture only helped clean up a sample in a good way.

Was your cut from tissue culture, sorry I was drinking ipa's last night so my recollection is hazy to say the least

There’s tons of different bacteria all around all the time and when you do a tissue culture you are removing everything. Not all bacteria are bad, and some of them are character influencing. Think in terms of how not everybody’s feet smell the same, and it’s because of the bacteria that we get shortly after birth and is with us the entirety of our lives. Plants are not that much different really, they will attach with the bacteria available to them for the symbiotic relationships to occur.

I had not heard that before but it does make sense.
