can i run a 175w m/h bulb in a 150w hps ballast....ive read that you can run mh in hps of the same wattage, the only drawback is that the mh bulb will burn out quicker than it should....does the 25w difference make a difference or will the mh just run at 150w in the ballast.......i hope this makes sense...kinda baked right now..........

from what ive read you can only run a hps lamp in a hps ballast. Unless your using a mh conversion bulb, they sell them at most hydro shops.

No, you can't. You can run a MH conversion bulb in a HPS ballast, or an HPS conversion bulb in a MH ballast. You cant ever run a MH bulb in a HPS ballast, or an HPS bulb in a MH ballast. And you always have to run on the exact same wattage.

yeah, dude..the ballast and the lamp have to be the same. Just be careful because it might cause a fire. I bought my ballast and lamp on ballaskit.com and it came with a wiring diagram on the ballast itself. Good luck
