That's cool! How many watts is that cfl? You should post some updated pics.

I just looked through the thread for dates and pics and totally didn't even see that "last edited" text. My bad man. Yeah, your plants look real nice and green. They look like they might want more light on them and for the light to be closer. Remember, just because it's rated 130w, that's only useful if you're able to harness all of that power in lumens. Given, you are working with a big bright ass cfl in a gloss white interior with good reflection, but that light needs to be closer and directly focused on the plants for you to be fully utilizing the light. Trust me, that's why I crafted my big bulky reflectors, because my last grow didn't do shit because I didn't direct the cfls the way they should be. But do not take this as a demeaning response; I'm sure you are going to fare well with your current setup. It's dope!

Any closer and they dont like it. Ive experimented a bit. These larger globes are ment to be a bit further away then the smaller ones judging by the Hydro shops set ups. I think ive dialed in the veg height but will experiment again when she is in flower. There may possible be a different requirement.

Its been a nice compact node growth so far so im happy with the light heights ive been using. Been very minimal plant stretch in the veg and even the pre flower stretch is easily contained.

Any advice and thoughts are always welcome,

For sure man, if all is going well then of course continue the way you are. Its probably a pretty warm bulb, so they would like that extra distance. I love to see what can be done with low wattage grows. Looks good man
 
My younger brother has some going indoors and his leaves are canoeing like that due to heat stress from light being too close. Not sure what bulbs he is using but possible the spectrum its throwing as well? No experience indoors, but I have seen some of mine do that mid afternoon on extremely hot days
 
Why do I know its the light? Simple, when he moves the light off them the canoeing goes away......Noob, nah I dont fucking think so

Canopy temps have only gotten up to 25c (winter here) and usually been lower (down to 10s some days- Lights are on at night for warmth). So it hasnt been hot at all. I realize heat is the main cause but it just cannot be in this case unless this plant is from Antarctica..

I was just teasing you calling you a noob in the other thread. Didnt mean anything by it it. (text doesnt have the infliction of the spoken word.)

So the lights dont put off any heat signature? I dont believe that 1. Spectrum maybe then

yes, the light puts out heat. But i have a temp gauge at canopy height. The temps I quoted above are from that.

Light spectrum?..maybe. I havent heard of that but its deffianatly possible. Could also be bad genetics to I spose? I also read somewhere that Mag deficiency can cause it (new one to me)..Aspirin did help a little.
Could temp fluctuation cause it to?

I gotcha. Ok well not temp then. I dont think its bad genetics as from comparison my brother is growing some getawaymountain strains. Mag deficiency causes purpling stems most notable, not sure about the canoeing effect. Do you have any epsom salt you can give it a bit of? I would say definitely temp swings could cause it and I think spectrum could also do the same.
 
I have watered with Epsom and that plant has not shown any other Mag deficiency symptoms. Its bloody strange.

I recon you could be right. Color spectrum and/or the temp swings. Funny how one plant can get effected but the others dont..lol.

Its not a serious problem ..just had me stumped. Cheers!
 
It may have been that, that particular plant didnt jive with the hot soil mix as well. I know its fukn weird only being the one plant, but stranger things have happened

About 10% over the last pics. Ill post an update on Saturday or Sunday.

They do seem pretty healthy and i dont spend much time with them. Maybe max 10mins a day. The self watering pots do make it all pretty simple (touch wood!)
Cause i topped em at the second node I should of vegged a tad longer. But thats cool. lesson learnt.

Been a lot of cheap fun so far.
