Lucky Me

I've been feeding once a week, since august, with heavy doses of sunleave's seabird poo. The one I took the sample from(pics taken at night) is about a week ahead of the other. However, the one that is behind has twice as many quarter sized bud sites that is more characteristic of Nirvana's White Widow. I knew I loved the beginning of autumn for a reason!

I was able to take another sample tonight. The hairs are turning, so I know I'm getting closer to harvest. I plan on buying the $12 microscope tomorrow and see where I stand on trich development. I think last year I harvested about a week to a week 1/2 too early for this strain. So, with a little more "patience" I'm sure it will finish fine. I just ran out of the one plant I harvested last year, but only a few weeks and I'll be spoiled.
Hope you guys are growing well.
Peace

I finally bought the mini-microscope and I'm glad I have it or else I would have picked these way too early. The first plant that I have kept sampling is at about 30% cloudy. The last samples that I took have given me headaches, so it needs more time. The second plant is at 10% or so, but it is packing on the trichs like crazy. I want to pick the first plant in one week and let the second stay out for two weeks. The first plant is losing all of its fan leaves to Nitrogen deficiency. Feel free to give opinions on harvesting.

First pic- WW #1 @ 30% cloudy
pics 2-4- WW #2 @ 10% cloudy

The fan leaves will yellow due to the shorter days and the plant diverting it's growth to the flowers/buds. Don't worry about that just keep them picked out where they won't create any rot. Looking good man.

Nice my bud looks very similar to yours. I'm gonna go buy a microscope today as well. Keep up the good work I look forward to seeing your wares when done.

Looks like it just started dropping fan leaves so he has a ways to go.

SoftWhite: I'd say the mini-microscope would be a wise investment. I've had some outdoor harvests that I pretty much ruined, because I picked too early. Indoor is a different story as I can take samples with little effort. And, looking through a microscope is pretty damn cool when you're high!
GOOD LUCK TO ALL

WW#2 just started this week. However, WW#1 started dropping over two weeks ago.
Some of mine have been dropping superfluous leaves for the last month, others not. Trichs on all are all fully clouded, standing up on their stems with no sign of collapse when the amber hits. This local indica strain normally takes two more weeks. They pre-flowered the last week of July and the end of the first week in Oct will be 10-weeks.

Clear weather and hot here through next week, then it's up to the weather gods.

Nice plants! Is that a local indica strain or something else? You need a sturdier fence...j/k.

Yes, local indica strain 20+ years. Mine are 3.5-5.5' but I'm on a mountainside with Southern exposure. Same strain does 7' in the river bottom valleys from full sun.

Ag fence; small mesh at bottom for rabbits, large mesh above for deer, 8' tall. I can lean my 200lbs against it and it holds, so that's all I need.

Well, at least you have a fence to protect your plants.
We have so many rabbits and deer there wouldn't be any plants without a fence, especially this time of year when their feed becomes scarce with the heat. Most days we have 6-12 deer munching on the grass.
