Since i dont have much vertical space I want to attempt a setup with either lst, scrog, or fimming, or a combination

Which method would be best for a noob that wouldnt fuck up everything??

I would say scrog, it is easy and it works. Definitely the best way to conserve height. I have Lst-ed a few times, and was disappointed each time with diminished yields. Maybe, I didn't do it properly. Topping is a good method as well, but won't give you a huge decrease in height.

yeah but what if you can seem to get the point of a scrog.
if u dont top/lst fim watever then ur gunna have 1 maybe 2 colas to work with
are you gettin what im saying? lol
without topping and all that shit ive only gotten one straight plant with no branching.
and that outside in the sun.

ok well i think im going to fim and have a scrog setup so i have branching and increase the yield with scrog..by the way what is the differnce between fimming and topping??

i just read about this in an old high times i found the other day...

fimming is when you dont remove the entire cola but leave about 10% it said and its supposed to grow back multiple times instead of just 2 coming back...

did i say that right?

Topping seems to be alright so far (I am just now flowering my first topped plants), but LST worked great for me in the past, the key is try to make your canopy (top growth) even. That way every bit of light is used and all your bud sites grow to their maximum potential, instead of having a couple of big colas and a shit load of popcorn bud on the bottom, you'll end up with a shit load of colas, which is always a good thing.

Yeah, you can get like 8+ instead of two, def the preferred method.

Check out the grow faq for great examples and deffinitions on all prunning and low stress training methods. I've learned to grow using nothing but this web site and advice from people on here. My mothers is a long time hippy smoker. According to her I got the best dro she's ever seen. So that's saying something for this web site. As I knew nothing before signing up. Trust in the grow faq and your fellow midnight tokers. We won't stear you wrong. Every method I have used gave me about the same yeild. It's just up to how much maintence you can keep up on and how much space you have. You can train a plant to grow damn near anyway you want. My advice, read up and experiment. Marijuana is a very resilient plant and can bounce back from almost anything. So feel free to find your "nitch" You, and your plant, will be happy, and higher because you did!

Oh yeah, the method Ive stuck with is just topping/ and prunning. I've gotten over 30 branches with topping before flowering in only about a month and a half. Which helps to make each branch weigh less which requires less external support as well as stem growth from the plant. Make the plant have nothing to do but flower ya know. And I've found other methods to be troublesome and high in maintence. But will little vertical space, I would do a scrog. It will allow you to know exactly where your buds will be. Cuz you put them there. So good luck, and God speed.

I have a method I use that works better than any other I've tried, but it comes with risks. Supercropping! It basically amounts to bending the shit out of the main stalk-practically breaking it. If you do it right, then the main stem will stay bent at a 90 degree angle for a while, then the top will start growing vertical again. I've taken a 3' plant and reduced the height to 2' using this method. The risk is that you can kill the top if you do it wrong, and sometimes the 90 degree bend will just stand right back up and heal itself. The end result is a shorter plant, you keep your top, and the lower branches get stimulated to go crazy.

Topping does work also-promotes branching and all that but you have to cut off your beautiful top to do it. I'll post some pics of what mine look like in a bit-gonna eat some lunch now...
