Lst questions im a first timer!

hey yall just started to tie my girls over was woundering if im doing it right (if its just as simple as tying them over for starters)
for now im working the top to bend down then once its the same height as the lowest node i can start tying the smaller nodes down to bush her up a bit is this correct? also as i bend them over i am supposed to move them closer to the light correct? im using a T5 HO so i have to keep them fairly close.
sorry i didnt give many details on my grow if you have any questions just ask. thank you for your input in advance!

Not an expert on it as this is my first time doing it too, but this is not at all what my girls look like. They are about 20 inches tall and stupid bushy so I drilled holes around the tops of the 5 gal buckets and then pulled down and tied branches so they were more exposed to light. Still let the main cola go straight up though. I guess you're working with height restrictions?

well i dont have "restrictions" my closet is 8 foot tall but i want to keep them as short as possible, i know its not ideal for maximum yeild but i have to flower under my T5 HO lights this run unfortunatly. for this reason i want to keep them as "even" as possible all across the top so i didnt want my top cola super high compared to the lower nodes. but i have one bushy and one thinner one (they both are not 100% healthy) so i am going to try what your saying with my bushier one the nodes are way to crowded lol iv got to tie them all out.

Unless you want it lopsided and hanging over one side of your pot, I think you should start bringing the top back around towards the pot.
See mine.
I topped it once, and just started spreading everything out.Pic2dec17_zps967708c6.jpg

very nice, i should have done what you said. i havent been on in a while so im just now seeing this but my girls are already lopsided now lol they were a little crooked and hanging off the pot but i figured i could offset it or "cheat" the bend when i transplanted them into their full sized pots... not the case but im going to do what you said next time! gotta learn some how lol but thank you for your help
