LST in hydro question

Alright, I am growing a sative dominant strain called c-13 it is g-13 crossed with cannalope or some suchness...anyway the website says to switch the lights once the little girl hits about a foot tall....but I have grown her sideways so I coudl hurry up and get some branches so I can take some clones...but I have been vegging for quite some time now...and am wondering if this plant will end up ridiculously huge even though it is still only like 3 inches tall....as something grows up I pull it back down with coathanger pieces and hook then into the net pots, so can't I just keep doing this as long as I dont' allow the plant overall to grow huge it will be fine in flower won't it? Or will all this veg time give me a 6 foot bush in my closet?! But then again since I am only vegging this long to top and clone, and clone and top...it should be fine anyway, since I plan to remove a good bit of growth before switching the lights...? Yeah--it'll be alright...

sorry can you clarify... i dont get how the plant has been vegging for "sometime now" but only 3 inches tall still?

how much is time "all this veg time"

not understanding the "top and clone and clone and top" part ...

pictures would be a big help too

lol you answered your own post with the last bit. if you're really hacking the plant up for clones just try to do it in a way that strategically creates gaps where you want. lst is good like that. as far as running out of space it's mostly the vertical space that's of concern. as long as you can accomodate a possible tripling in height you should be fine. most hybrid strains double or just a bit more. tripling is more for sativas, at least from what i've seen.

The plant I'm growing is 85% sativa thus the question pretty much..lol. It has been vegging for about a month and a half so, around 5 or 6 weeks. but because I have trained all the branches down the tallest part of the plant is only about 2-3 inches tall...it would be much taller but I have trained all the branches out like fingers on a hand. So I have 6 tops as opposed to one...I need to get some clones off of it---that is why I am letting it go for so long...I just don't want it to still turn into some crazy monster when I switch the lights, but indeed I did answer my own question...if I am removing a good deal of growth then when I switch the lights there won't be that much vegetative growth to shoot up all over the place. So thank you guys for helping me "talk/type" this out...I find that I can usually figure an issue out that I'm having if I ask someone else...lol.
