LST Gone Wrong, First Grow

Of course it is okay to trim up some of the foliage during healthy vegetative growth. Especially if you want to trim the lower portion of the plant. It makes for great cuttings when you do and your plant should love it.

You can chop off a large portion of the roots. She won't mind at all. I used to grow aeroponics and whenever my roots got too long I'd just give them the snip. Never cut more than 1/2 the root mass in anyone one sitting.

ALWAYS use a clean blade to do it and start slow. It never hurt my girls to cut the root ball back. Just be respectful and don't take a ton

Zinc (Zn)
Zinc plays a roll in the same enzyme functions as manganese and magnesium. More than eighty enzymes contain tightly bound zinc essential for their function. Zinc participates in chlorophyll formation and helps prevent chlorophyll destruction. Carbonic anhydrate has been found to be specifically activated by zinc.

Zinc Deficiencies:
Deficiencies appear as chlorosis in the inter-veinal areas of new leaves producing a banding appearance as seen in figure 18. This may be accompany reduction of leaf size and a shortening between internodes. Leaf margins are often distorted or wrinkled. Branch terminals of fruit will die back in severe cases.
Also gets locked out due to high pH. Zn, Fe, and Mn deficiencies often occur together, and are usually from a high pH. Don't overdo the micro-nutrients, lower the pH if that's the problem so the nutrients become available. Foliar feed if the plant looks real bad. Use chelated zinc. Zinc deficiency produces "little leaf" in many species, especially woody ones; the younger leaves are distinctly smaller than normal. Zinc defeciency may also produce "rosetting"; the stem fails to elongate behind the growing tip, so that the terminal leaves become tightly bunched

I honestly believe this is one of your problems.as to what is causing the other issues im not sure. If you have a high ph causing the zinc def. then it could also be the root of your other issues. other then that plant looks real nice.

still tryna figure out if its def or burn? and im 3 days into 12/12 and im wondering how long before i can start to tell the sex of the plant cuz it IS bagseed of what was really nice herb, i just hope its a girl but if it aint it was very good practice as it was first grow, im thinking fem autos but VERY skeptic on all these sites, anyone from midwest have a good recommendation for a seedbank??????????
and another thing so im using the sun system mini 150w hps and im wondering if its safe and ok for the lamp plugged into timer for 12/12 and leave switch ON while lamp is off

Personally I'd say buy some normal not fem seeds that aren't auto and take the time to find a great female, but that's just my opinion. There has to be a reason that most of the respectable breeders wont touch autos nor will they support feminized.

thats so wierd, im growing in 2 x 4 room and i dont have space to plant a bunch of regular seeds and thin out the males and autos would be nice cuz they are small plants. rite now i have 1 huge in 5 gallon bucket DWC plant taking up almost all closet space and i dont know yet if its female.

Looking better, I personally think theres way too much undergrowth for having just a 150 watt. I would try and trim some of that off. If its not getting light then all its doing is taking energy away from bud producing sites higher up on the plant. for example in picture four, look at all the growth down in the bottom not getting any light. just my opinion though bro.

i totally agree, but how much? and is it healthy to do it in flowering? all at once or over couple days?

How are the girls doing?

If you make the cut early in flowering you wont cause any problems. Don't loaft long though or you will miss your window and just have to leave them. That's what happened to me this grow.

shees doing great today is 3 weeks into 12/12, as my first indoor garden i can tell 150w hps is def not enough for my 2x4 garden, thinkin bout getting another one 300 would be really nice. my only problem is venting, it gets too hot with he door closed pushing 90+ degrees. other than that very happy that she turned out be be a fem! will post pics tonite
