I've heard that LP's buy starts, plants and seeds from Medicals. What happened with the seized shipments? were they from other LP's to LP'l or from medicals to LP's?

I'm assuming by Medis you mean MMAR growers. And yes the shipments were from MMAR growers.

The seized shipments would have died because the RCMP held them for too long without caring for them.
They were seized for a number of supposed reasons, but the most reasonable seems to be that the order they placed (although legal on their end) surpassed the production amount of the MMAR they purchased from.

So the RCMP had Tweed buying marijuana from Company X, but the amount was more than the legal amount that Company X was allowed to produce, which is a legal violation and gave them the right to seize the product.

In the future HC would rather see LPs sharing strains, producing seed for each other, etc.
They want a more self-sufficient system that allows for them to not have to deal with it or the grey/black market.

I've heard a few times it was because they were shipping plants in late stages of flowering to be trimmed in house.

Apparently they had all that cleared with HC though. They got a "grey area" pass to import the products because it was getting too close to the deadline and HC needed product to sell. The only ones not onboard were the RCMP, so from what I've been told it had nothing to do with HC at all - could be your reason as well, just that it came from the RCMP to have the problem.

seized from RCMP, nothing about charges laid, nothing about an open investigation..... something smells and it's not the weed

Thanks for all the replies. Yes, I meant MMAR. I wasn't sure if it was dried, wet, or living product being sold.

I find it interesting to see how they draw the old line in the sand on these things. For example, shipping cut-up wet plants could be considered "Marihuana," but is not "Dried Marihuana," and could still be rooted once again . A late stage flower can become a cutting, if necessary, but if it dies would the LP have to dispose of it? Noting Calyx Crushers comment, they (tweed,) had a plan to supplement production. Will the shipping budding plants method become a loophole to allow selling to LP's? I guess it is, unless you ship over your amount by- plant count, since weight does not get counted until product is dry.
