Lowryder Dwarf Mix 400w HPS Cab Grow

So I started my Lowryder grow a few weeks ago. This is my first grow so I am hoping this site will increase my chances of success. I will give everyone a run down of what I have done so far.

My setup is a 400w HPS. 2 50 CFM bathroom fans. One pulling cabin air out and one pulling light air out. I have a big box fan mounted in a homemade light trap of sorts. I haven't completely light trapped it yet because there is no need. I found the Entertainment center at Goodwill for $50. It is 3' 4" wide and 2' deep. I currently have 8 lowryders planted in a 60% Miracle Grow, 30% Pertile, 10% Vermiculite mix. Temps stay around 75 at night and slowly raises to no higher than 85 as the day goes by and the lights stay on.

I started by planting 2. Both just showed sex. One was male and one was female. I have a separate chamber that im keeping the male in because I intend on harvesting some pollen. The bottom chamber is 4 2700k CFLs and 4 5000k CFLs. All 23w. I have been watering about 200 ML every 3 days. I just gave both bigger plants 1/4 strength of grow big yesterday and woke up today and to my surprise both had showed sex.

The seeds I used are Joint Dr. Lowryder Drawf Mix so I guess that means I could possibly have a few different strains. I also received a couple bonus seeds too. I plan on planting them next.

I have the Fox Farms growing trio of nutes. I have no experience using these but I have done a ton of research and I think I got it. I used the grow big yesterday because the female was starting to turn a little yellow on the bottom leaves.

Well after moving that heavy ass entertainment center a tent sounds nice. Im just cheap. You got so many pics on your grow tread! How many plants have you grown under your 400w hps before?

the most i do at once is nine, And that is a tight squeeze but i just finished another run of 9 and i decided to not post that one.
But once i get my new filter i will be back at her going perpetual now.

Update:
The big female has started to bud on the top. Im hoping it will get bigger because its at day 19 and very small. Its also that same yellowish green on the bottom leaves. The other little one is doing very well and took off when I fed it 1/4 strength grow big for the first time. I hoping it will help boost what little veg stage it has. Here are the pics. Update:
I transplanted my female into a grow bag with nothing but perlite. My plan is to put a tray under the bag and treat it for this point on like a hempy grow. Im hoping this will work but im not sure. I added some superthrive to the water and just gave it good watering.

Then there is the male im hoping to get some pollen off of.

I dont understand why the female's bottom leaves aren't getting any better. The rest of the plant doesn't seem to be hurt from the grow big but it doesn't seem to be getting better either. She was starting to bud good before I transplanted her. Im guessing she is just in shock right now.

The little guy is shooting up though ever since I gave it its grow big. Im happy with its progress and how dark green and healthy it looks.

And all the seedlings are doing well.

Well I have an update. Things aren't going as well as I hoped. I could really use some help.

So heres all six I got going right now.



This is the oldest one. She isn't doing so well. Hasn't grown much at all since I transplanted her and she just keeps getting more and more yellow. I have been feeding a mixture of grow big, tiger bloom, and big bloom all at 1/4 strength. I have fed it this mix twice. I was feeding it 1/4 grow big before. I have checked the PH of soil a while back and it was around 6.5 to 7. The water I feed them is a PH of 6.5.




This one is the second oldest. She showed sex about a week ago. I have fed her the above mentioned mix of ferts twice now as well. She seemed to like it. Before I was feeding her 1/4 strength grow big. She still doesn't look as healthy as I want. Nor does she seem to want to grow tall. I had the light about 10" away before which might have something to do with it. It doesn't get to hot I know that. I have now raised it to 16" or so.




These are the other 4. One has showed itself as a Male. They are getting 1/4 strength grow big. And they seem to like it. One has a little burn on it from the superthrive I think.






PLEASE HELP ME!!

There just so damn small. I dont understand what I am doing wrong? They have a lot of light. Not too much water but not too little. Ferts are good brand and are used properly. Ph is good. There only 4 or 5" tall.

Update. The first two are doing well there just so tiny. I started LSTing them and I def think it will help with yeild. The side buds are loving the light.






All 4 showed sex about 2 weeks old. I had 1 male and 3 females. So out of 10 seeds I got 5 females, 2 males, and I killed 3 during germination.

These are the 3 females. They are getting huge compared to the other 2. And they seem to be loving the nutes:
1/4 Teas GB
1Tbls BB
1/4 Teas TB
I'm guessing they have lowryder 2 genetics and the others had lowryder 1





And these are 2 freebie seeds. One is Kannaiba Special and one is Pyramid Seeds Osiris. They are doing well. They got there first dose of 1/4 GB today.



Oh and here are the 2 mixes of Ferts I've mixed up. Looks like tea!

This is the oldest female. She seems to be doing well. Her buds are getting big! Well maybe not big but just big to me.






This is the second oldest female. She is doing well too. Waiting on those buds to fatten up like the other. This one is about a week or more behind the first.




These are the youngest 3 females. They are getting real big and I started my LSTing on them today.

Oldest Lowryder. I believe it to be a Lowryder #1. Doing well. Thinking of taking her off the nutes soon since harvest should be in a couple weeks.



Second oldest is doing well and really starting to thicken up. Although this one is only a week older than the first, it seems to be about a week and a half or two weeks older compared how big it is and how big the first was 2 weeks ago.



ALTOGETHER I DONT BELIEVE THE SOIL TO HEMPY STYLE WAS HELPFUL LIKE I DID IT. BUT I DONT FEEL LIKE IT WAS BAD EITHER. I DO ALSO FEEL THAT LST'ING LOWRYDER IS A WONDERFUL IDEA!


These are the 3 youngest lowryders. Doing very well in just that shallow soil. Growing much faster than the first two. Mostly due to me having a second chance after I got the hang of watering and fertilizing them to do it right when it mattered for these 3. IN THE VEG STAGE. I gave them Grow Big from day one 1/4 strength. And kept the light at about 18" to kinda make them stretch. I think alot of people miss out on how important it is sometimes to make a lowryder stretch during Veg stage so there's more room for buds to grow later on. The first two up there I kept the light real low and they stayed so small and bushy. Just my theory. May only have to do with genetics and I may be completely wrong.





And these are Kannaiba Special (Smaller) and Pyramid Seeds Osiris (Bigger).

QUESTION:

Are they looking like they should for lowryder buds or could they be better? I just wondering if my quality of smoke will be as good as I can get it. Do you think my THC level will be around %15 or probably less right? That %15 they advertise is only for buds grown the best they can be? Or is it generally always good when it looks like this? I'm just not used to seeing mature buds enough to tell if this will turn into some crazy good prez I smoke from my local guy. Or will it be like some good Mids? Around here Mids go for 120 a OZ and Crip or Prez or any other name you may have for good weed is 400 a OZ. Mids are crap. They have hairs and crystals but very little and dont taste that good. Prez tastes wonderful. Never compressed and smell intoxicating. So what do you guys think mine will turn out like?

Also one other question. How many people are watching my journal. I love getting comments and having conversation. Im such a Newb. I know I could be doing things better probably.

I just want to learn the most I can about this revolutionary plant. Im still fairly young (early 20's) so the market is going to keep getting more and more legal. I want to be on top of this industry when it really blows up and becomes legal so Ill be ahead of the game!

I'm always by my computer or my phone and get updates instantly so I know when someone posts and ill post right back. Also if anyone has any ideas of how I could get some more traffic to my journal I'd love to here them.

For those who are against growing in MG please just take a chance to open your mind to new ideas and read threw this MG vs FFOF Grow.

I know everyone is against MG. I know if I continue to use it I will never live it down. I also agree that FFOF is better suited to keep MJ where it likes to be.

But I do not agree that this soil is as bad as its rep makes it seem. That test above is proof that MG can be better that FFOF in some situations. I know that all the time release caps in the soil have long since popped. My plants needed Nutes very early on in there life.

My proof of that was how well they exploded when I fed them there Grow Big from day 1.

Everyone has there opinions and mine is that with the right perlite mix MG can be just fine. But who knows when I get some FFOF for myself I may just change my mind!

hello their, good looking plants ya got their my friend i have never tried the lowryder but always thought about it, have you ever smoked the buds before? anyways you should try a scrog next time around with 1 regular plant that you know is female, chekc into mate deff worth it in yield/time wise either way healthy looking plants happy smokin
