lower p.h with vinegar..questions

I use vinegar every watering. Just make sure its the white distilled kind.

my water is still at 6.6 so its good enough to use....
my plants would need watering again by the time the p.h goes up or down so its ok

hey. easy way to bring down ph and hold it there if your water is very hard(=high ph), is to use the brita water pitchers. when you fill pitcher, pour it into plastic gallon jugs to store. brita(and similiar pitcher filtration devices) remove alot of the carbonates that will cause your ph to be high+ purify your water in general. this makes a great water for your plants similiar to r/o water, just not as completely deionized.

my p.h goes up when i add ferts n i cant really filter out my ferts so i have to learn how to lower it

For fuck sake justbut some ph up and some down cost about a fiver aint worth fucking about with save the vinager for your chips.

exactly my point mate its easy because you can get it with the weeks shopping

It is not wise to use Vinegar in any recirculating / water set up. More research in RIU forums on this topic is highly recommended imho. Save yourself time and K.I.S.S it with a phosphoric acid product from your local hydro store.

if your ph is so high, that water is salty, of has a lot of minerals. i would use another water source. collect rainwater or something. a high salt/mineral content may effect your plant after a while.

What about Ascetic acid aka lemon juice, or even good old plain vit C Ascorbic? Hey if it's good for you???
