Lower leaves yellowing, please help diagnose problem.

Ok, here (<-- this word is a link) they are. We're at just about 30 days from germination. Sorry about the shitty picture quality.

1. I know, I need to get proper pots. I will get something better tomorrow.

2. I'm using good soil. Foxfarm ocean something. I am not using any fertilizer yet.

3. They are getting lots of light. 8000 lumens (or so) in a 32*16*24" growing area (this excludes areas for soil, lighting, filtration, fans, etc)

4. Temperatures are usually in the mid 70s, but sometimes get to the high 80s. I plan on adding a thermostat that will keep the temperatures in the low 80s.

5. I have no idea what the humidity is, put I presume it's quite low right now since I live in a snowy area. Been trying to increase it over the last few days by adding a terracotta pot full of wet soil into the cabinet.

6. BONUS QUESTION! How much longer should I wait before cloning them to determine sex?

Thank you all for your help!

4-7 days after flowering 4 the sex?and goes for the yellowing sounds like their really hungry for more nitrogen man goodluck bud

Thank you, do you think a some standard houseplant fertilizer will hold me over until I get something proper? I have some decent stuff I use for my houseplants. How long should an off-shoot be before i cut it off and put it in a jiffy pellet? With other plants I make the cut at a a 45 degree angle and just put it in soil/jiffy pellet. Will that work for MJ?

Oh and 8000 lumens is not enough for three plants....im at 42000 for 3 plants and im planning to get an additional cfl with my HPS to increase the light in my grow room

johnzyb: It's a small cabinet that someone else has successfully used with far less lumens. I haven't sexed them yet and plan on ending up with 2 plants. I might try a scrog with 1 plant, though -- I haven't decided yet. I definitely need bigger/better pots. I will givethem some decent houseplant fertilizer when I water them next (probably after repotting tomorrow morning) Thank you!

if you can find fox farm soil you shouldnt have a problem finding fox farm nutrients there. pic up some grow big and hit them with a dose of it. i also sugest getting some fox farm big bloom and giving them a nice healthy dose of it.

Transplant to larger pots.
Houseplant fertilizer is fine. Use at half strenght.
Water less frequently.

What type and wattage lighting do you have?.............Lumens= ? Too many variables. Spectrum?

About a week or so after the up potting and feeding they should be healthy enough to pull a couple of clones from........

I repotted a few hours ago, fertilized, built/installed a filter, and installed a thermostat. All that's left to do is to seal up the connection between the filer and fan. Here are some updated pics:

My grow cabinet
Grow cabinet closeup
My over-sized filter. It's 15" long by 6" in diameter. I made it from wire mesh, a ducting adapter & cap, nylons, zip-ties, duct tape, and a ton of activated carbon. The air passes through 1" of carbon before being drawn into the fan. It uses a 6" to 4" reducer and is similar to the one sticky-posted in one of these sections (but uses carbon granules instead).

The lamp is a 150W HPS. I'm not sure exactly what it's spectrum is. The really helpful guy at the grow store told me I'd be fine with the one bulb for the entire process (at least as a beginner), if that gives you any information.

While I got your attention, how long should I veg my clones before flowering them so I can determine the sex of the parent? Can I just cover them with a paper bag for part of the day?

Thank you for your suggestions so far!
