Low Amp Heater Recommendation

A 600w digital ballast draws a little more than 5 amps. Does anyone know of a small portable heater solution that does not draw so many amps as to cause the circuit breaker to trip when combined with the light. It's not possible to put the heater on a different circuit, only one outlet is available.

OK well I got a little lesson today when I found many heaters advertised watts but not amps I searched on Google and found the equation to figure out amps provided you know watts and volts:

Watts = Volts x Amps

One need only solve for x. So basically im looking for a heater around 800 watts max, which equates to about 7 amps...add that to the 5 amps for the HPS light and you've got 12 amps with a few left over.

I'm sitll up for some suggestions on which heater though...anyone have a favorite they use?

It depends on the circuit your outlet is on. Do you know how many amps the circuit is? You can figure this out by checking your breaker box. More than likely, there are multiple outlets on the circuit, not just one. Once you know how many amps the circuit is rated for, just add up the amperage of all your equipment. As long as the total is lower than the capacity of the breaker, you will be fine.
