lost in a sea of too much info

Hello everyone

I am one of the newbiest newbs to marijuana in general. I have been reading a lot of info on how to grow cannabis, but I have become lost in a sea of info. 2 weeks ago I started growing 3 plants and have kept them under a 40 watt grow bulb from walmart. I have been giving it 18 hours of light a day with this bulb and my plants are growing quickly but I can't let them grow too high. I am growing in wooden box that pulls out of my desk...the space I have to use is 14.5"x18.5"x17.5". I am growing my plants inside of an empty computer. I live with my parents who approve of marijuana just as much as the feds do, so they can't find out about this.

What I now need from you guys is how I can keep my plants short but without sacrificing bud quality and not reduce quantity too much. I also need to know what kind of lights I need to get and where to get them.

thanks everyone

Sure, no prob. You need to TTF, train to fit. I would recommend LST'ing your plants. LST means low stress training. Basically, wait till your plants are about 3-6" tall, and then bend them over and tie them down using string or pipe cleaners. Once the top starts growing back up towards the light, tie down the top again, creating a circular pattern around the eprimeter of your growing bucket. Furthermore, I would switch them to 12/12 lighting, 12 on 12 off will initiate flowering, and they will grow 50-150% bigger during this time, if not more.

If you need any mroe info, just google LST or search for it on rollitup, theres lots of info on LST'ing.

Thanks man. I bent them over and switched them to 12/12 lighting. Do I need to get a different light bulb for the flowering stage and if so what do I need and where can I get it???
Thanks
