Loose/Airy Buds even with 400w HPS

Anyone know why? Its still nothing like the buds that I get when purchased elsewhere.

Make sure your room isnt to hot and make sure you let them finish.

Unripened buds will be airy or loose but it can also be dependent on the strain as alot of the structure for the buds is based off genetics.

Also, having your light too far from your plant can also cause the buds to stretch out.

I have never heard nor experienced hi heat causing buds to be airy.

what are you using for nutrients? I use fox farm. try them, you'll like the results!

Genetics is the biggest factor in bud structure, followed by temperature and lighting.and make sure you have plenty of air movement.

sativas do not have the super tight structure that you would get in an indica dominant strain.

Temps - temps above 87 deg F will also loosen up the bud structure

Lighting - the intensity of your lighting will affect the density as well. A bud from a 1000w is going to be more dense then one from a 250w

Hmm, alright thats good to know. Ive been growing g13xbuddha, chocolope, and mango all with the same density of buds though. Im pretty sure I do let them finish, as they I let them go to 10 weeks. I also wait till most of the pistols dry out and turn brown/red.

Temps seems to be my main problem. When I have the tops at 8 inches, temps get up to 87-90. Ive been keeping them at 15 inches away where they stay at 80 degrees.

Is it worth the heat bringing the light closer? Or is the heat worse off for the plants?

I have a 2 fans running in there, so movement of air isnt a problem

what about light leaks? Is your growspace completely sealed of from stray lighting during flowering?

STRAIN! get chu a good indica, and different NUTES, sum hardeners and shit! DONT GIVE UP ON EM.

It could be the heat, my girls are under a 400, both soil girls and hydro girls and all of them are sporting rock hard colas, only 5 weeks in but my temps are running 70 in the day (lights on) to low sixtys at night (lights off) with a RH of 42% to 30%, also, because of my good temps I keep the light 8 inches away.

IMaybe get yourself an air cooled hood for your 400? they work wonders on bringing down your temps.

Some good ole' fashioned Co2 would do wonders for a warmer room. And I believe that g13 strains go longer than 10 weeks some times. How far away is your lamp? genie.. hahaha

Ha Light leaks dont cause airy bud, it causes hermaphroditism but nice try...

and The commerial shit is rock hard cus there packed with Nutes like Gravity and synthetic Hardeners and they become rocks... but honestly I would go for a more airy outdoor bud or an organic before I would want those carbon rocks, they may look or feel nice but most (in my experiance) doesnt get me very high...

density is almost like purple bud, everyone perseves it as better, because of this being the general myth all stoners believe at some point.

I have a air cooled hood, but it still gets pretty high. Its cause I have alot of bends, but theres nothing I can do about that since its a small room.

go for a co2 setup to make up for the heat the 90 degrees could be part of the problem
