Has anyone seen this strain floating around NorCal? It's supposed to be an old school strain.

Thanks in advance. :)

Ahh good ol monkey paw, was a great commercial thai strain a buddy of mine from PA used to grow it. Haven't seen or heard anything about it in over 10 years... now monkey balls ya can find seeds of since it's tom hills deep chunk, but that one is a heavy indica. Nothing like the paw, but I remember reading in another thread you where looking for high cbd? the deep chunk aka monkey balls might be something you're interested in

Alaskan Thunder Fuck! Ohhh love it..

I am looking for Monkey Paw for my wife. She has fibromyalsia (sp?) and it seems to be the best all around smoke that she has had in a long time. Problem is we got it form a friend who got it from a dispensary that is no longer in business. So I am looking to find any info I can on it and try to bring it into the garden. :)

Thanks for the tip on the Monkey Balls Gonzo.. I will check into it. :D

AH!! Do tell! You are saying something but not saying anything...... ;)
I was offered a clone of it a few weeks ago, but the price was too high. Since then I've had two different ppl who work for dispensaries down south telling me about how they just got some. Basically, it's starting to come around.

Hello Everyone.... I'm from Detroit Michigan and remember Monkey Paw back in the late 80's briefly. My friend got a gram of it from a coworker back when we were teens. I recall it being very dank and great bud.. But not much else... I've been trying to locate some seeds or clones for a while and didn't find anything until I came across a google search last month.. I found a site where the guy claimed to have 4 Monkey Paw seeds for sale.. I bought them up and they arrived a few weeks ago.. I don't know if they are legit but figured what the hey, give it a shot.... I asked him the background on them and he told me they were received on a trade and that they could be crossed but didn't know for sure. Like I said, I'm giving it a go and I'm sharing the progress here so you all can decide for yourself if they are legit or not. I only started one seed so far. If it turns out male I will probably still keep it and cross it with some other strain I'm growing (several options there)... If it's female, well I may not have a male to cross it with so if you want a clone of it, let me know, I can try to do that.. Any rate, here is the MP#1 as I will call it, it's about 2 weeks old, just growing it under an led light in a small cabinet. I do have HPS and other LED tents to move it to in the future if it looks promising... Let me know your thoughts !!

I was never able to find this in flower, seed, or clone throughout the years. I have all but given up but will be watching to see what you end up with.

Here is the Paw around 3-4 weeks in veg. I have a 400w hps tent, and a 400w led tent. Both are filled right now but will be open in around 4 weeks. I'm going to veg this until one of those tents open up and I will transfer it there. Won't know if it's male or female until then when I cut back the light to 12/12. 10CA99D5-4AF7-4021-BC3F-D7CA0DB48603.jpeg

Just transplanted it into a 5 gal pot and put it in the 12/12 400w hps tent. Does it look similar to anything you’ve grown? 97C2CA07-5795-44C6-9B40-B6D1F6AF116D.jpeg

Houston, we may have a problem... 12/12 is showing what I think is pollen sacks starting. No white hairs. It’s a damn fine looking plant but haven’t another to cross it with. Well now I know it’s a good strain. Is it the real legendary Monkey Paw or a hybrid of? I’d say prob. Well I have 3 seeds left. I will do another run with all 3 in a few and hope atleast one is male and one female I’ll make a ton of seeds. I’m not gonna hack it just yet but ain’t looking good. Stay tuned. 1232830A-13F4-423E-A7C7-F914EB8240EE.jpeg

Dead strain, unfortunately. IF, and that's a HUGE if, it turns out to be the REAL Monkey Paw, which I would be willing to bet my house that it's not, you would indeed have a Unicorn. The strain was developed and bred in Michigan, was clone only as the breeder, (friend of a friend of mine) modified it so that it would never produce viable seeds. I am old enough and lucky enough to have smoked it in the early 80's and can testify that it was the one true one-hit-knock-you-on-your -ass smoke. The guy who bred it told us he was at the time offered upwards of $2500 for A SEED. Back in the 80's, that was a lot of coin for a bean, still is, lol. I would be willing to bet just about anything that NOBODY has, or will ever have the REAL Monkey Paw again, unfortunately.
