ok so im no electrician. i have these cfl's just from tescos and im looking to find out its spectrum. will it or wont it say this on the box?
i pretty much have no idea what most of it is saying - because i love mj, not complications.
so heres everything on the box except the legal stuff.

PHILIPS
tornado
WW 827
220-240V
E27 ES 8000h
950 lumen

the rest is just saying that it has a lifetime of 8 years of 3 hours a day, saves over 80% of energy and its not suitable for dimmers - in about 60 languages :D

another question, why do they say for example, "15watt-85watt equivilant"?
equivilant to what???? incandescents?

is there a symbol for kelvans apart from k that i should be looking for?

any input is appreciated...:D

look at the actual buld.. on that white part (base) it will have all the writing on it... it should have a number followed by a letter K. thats your spec

827 is the colour range. Its leaning towards the reddish spectrum somewhere at daylight or orange I would say.....

as i said i got it out of tesco, if i asked the dude if its a flowering bulb he'd be stamping wildly on an "emergency help needed" button.:D
haha jk but yeah no ill check the bulb now for it i understand about kelvins, i just wasnt sure which sorta bulb this was.
and if it was btween flower and veg sorta bulb, it'd be great cos its the only bulb ill be using for this grow. :(

the only extra info on the bulb was that its 50-60hz. that have anything to do with it?

and if it were to be 827, why would WW have anything to do with kelvins?

it is most likely a flower bulb. you can use it during veg tho just to give your plants a wider spectrum. just use more daylight bulbs than you use of that one there

WW may have more to do with other coding rather than reference to the kelvin rating.
PREtty much... some bulbs dont have a k rating on them but they have a phone number you can call and ask i think.... i never had to tho cuz all my shit has everything clearly written on it

Above is your first line. If your most recent message was directed towards me, the message I posted was a translation of the information found in German when someone Googles your CFLs.

It says the lights you have are "Warm White (2700K)" lights, which are flowering light spectrum bulbs. If you need a vegetative light spectrum you would want something that is 6500K if possible, or at least ones that would be fairly close to it.

hey dude, i tried simialar cheap flrou strip lights and although they do work for veg i found buying a few VERY cheap CFL's in k6500 gave me noticeable results in 2 days! a company called Bridge do them well cheap. about £3 for 30watt bulbs. 2 of them will be much better than the strip lights. you can get them in loads of wee shops, i got mine in a 24hour corner shop :D
