Hi HHF”

Nice photos, I am a purple lover and would like to know what you think the darkest, earliest purple is? Anything finish in less than 12 weeks in 12-hour light?

What one was this photo of, how long did it take to finish, and most important what bank actually came through with what you ordered?
Hi,

For me the earliest, most consistently dark line that is of the quality I want is the purple Chitrali line. This takes about 8 weeks for fully mature glands and this is when the line is at its peak. It is slightly faster from fully matured clone but selection x environment can give +/- 10% on that figure.

The Photo is of Purple Chitrali #1, grown outside in Southern USA, that was a single seed grow, photo is a customers. Do not like to mislead, I'm the breeder of the line friend, it has become my profession and the line was shipped through one of our retailers.

Chitrali #1 is available in 2 versions, as a heirloom IBL and as a more worked Purple Chitrali line (Chitrali #2) and that grow out was of a #1 line plant.

Attached are some pics of the male Chitrali #1 purple's used in the inbreeding of the line. Along with a couple of my 'SoulFruit' line also created with them. Chitrali #1 is a true OG Kush plant and is one of the finest smoking and breeding Indicas I have personally encountered.

Peace, Thanks for the interest.

HHF,

Best feedback I got so far, you seem vary knowledgeable on the subject. Someone I could learn some things from.

I bread some purple varieties about 30 years ago, just one out of around 200 one year turned pure dark maroon. I may still have a photo of a bud, I will post if I find it. Up till recently I had never seen anything like it. Also a mentor of mine crated a strain much like your Chitrali #1 photo. I keep that strain going for years and cross it with everything I could get back then to make all kinds of cool variations. Those were the good old days for me, before I got married and domesticated.

The 8-week finish for Chitrali #1 seems to indicate a high % of indica, but the bud density looks more sativa. The 8-week finish really works for me, I am going for a fast turnaround indoor cycle with a variable environment to match the strains requirements.

Where can I get some Chitrali #1? A trust worthy source?

i found GDP in a club. so far, not liking it. purple strain are not my expertise. you can never get very high yields. my nine this round looks like ill only get around 2ps where as my goo or wheel chain ive been averaging 6ps. even my out door GDP is when smaller then anything else.

Hmm, ok, brief background to the Chitral region of the Hindu Kush would explain this.

Chitral Town is located high in the mountain valleys, with Charas type of Hashish being farmed traditionally in the surrounding areas for generations. The older, world famous qualities of Hashish from this area is built from these highest quality Charas from the area, historically these are hand rubbed from more Sativa types.

When the demand for Hashish from this area boomed with demand from the west more Indica types where farmed lower in the region resulting naturally in cross pollinations and naturally formed hybrids between the two going back in time. These lines have also been collected and selected by the indigenous farmers from the mass of variety in the area.

So, basically very old Sativa/Indica hybrids have been forming and/or created and maintained by the farmers over the years creating a mass of diversity in the area. So everything is possible from this region from 'pure' Sativa types, through to dense 'Indicas' and all of these could be 'Hashplants'

One thing guys, regarding the professional seed supply aspect. I did not come through the site to spam our work, (although I see the forums have a lot of that) it really is not our style. So I will talk to the sites management to gather their feelings on that and will do things properly, if you don't mind as I enjoy the genetics conversations.

The darkest of the maroon plants are interesting for me and these are different to what we consider normally to be ''purple'' types, if you get me. The plant trait that gives rise to these colours is something we (myself and partners) have spent a lot of time studying and it is quite a rare trait. It comes from a over abundance of Brix sugar levels we think.

Through understanding this rare trait it has allowed us to freely create and incorpate ''purple'' traits in many of our lines. This is not just for the 'prettiness' value, it is for taste's Traits as these produce deep scents and taste effects. Although for sure, the finished herbs are gorgeous, to my eye.

You cant see these traits, if you know exactly what you looking for you can feel them and taste them. So the monkey see, monkey do form of breeding this plant does not really work to increase these purple traits in lines like the Hazes, and other lines.

This is all in my humble opinion of course, but our lines appear to prove now after time this is correct.

Peace, HHF

HHF,

Your posts are the most informative and interesting to me so far.

Thanks for the background on Chitrali #1.

My solid maroon plant was a genetic one of a kind for me and as you said it was not just the looks it had a unique flavor too. It was quite different than the purple strains of that time or anything else for that mater. This one was not a large high yield plant but the qualities it did have were worth preserving. I regretted not continuing it later.

“It comes from a over abundance of Brix sugar levels we think. “

This reminds me when I studied horticulture for landscaping and read about a large flowering plant called hydrangea. Mostly white flowers that could change colors when supplemented in the soil with aluminum sulfate for blues and iron sulfate for reds. I did some un-conclusive testing back then on different plant to see the effects. But then my maroon plant was a genetic stand out among many others with the same conditions.

I think it’s more like getting an Olympic athlete or a grand chess master out of a larger population. Luckily plants are easier to clone than people.

I am very into scientific experiments and technologies so this subject is fascinating to me.

The cannabiseye store suggested by shepj looks good, do you feel they will deliver on the Chitrali #1 strain? If not them then who?

reading this thread with great interest. HHF your line looks wonderful! Thanks for the input. Don't run off. Are you in a position to start selling your line of seeds with Attitude? I have noticed in recent times they have added many new seed lines like Subcool etc....Sure would be nice! If not can you supply a vendor that sells your seed line? I think members of this forum are hear to listen to experienced people like yourself.
