Compulsions can technically be any physical action, obsessions are the mental repetitive 'action.' When a patient displays issues with their obsessions or compulsions this can be considered OCD when diagnosed by a psychiatrist.
If you were cranking it frequently and you couldn't stop, even though you preferred to stop, that might be OCD.
