Looking for a Strain To Clone?

I put this in the new-guy section as cloning is one of the big hurdles to becoming successful as a grower.

I'm an experienced grower running a perpetual grow operation that harvests 2-3 plants a week.
To keep things rolling efficiently I need to be able to have a steady stream of clones. 80% of my
finishing plants started as clones with 10-15% seedlings and a few re-grows thrown in. You can see how
important it is for me to have strains that I can reliably count on to root after so-many days. It doesn't make a
lot of difference if they root at 7 days or 10-12 days, as long as the time period in the domes is consistent.

The following strains have all come via Attitude and are the easiest/most reliable strains for cloning of the 30 or so
types I've cloned or tried to clone.

* Kushage (KSG) from TH Seeds, roots at 7-8 days every time, phenotype suggests topping/FIM'ing at 3 weeks vegging.
* GigaBud from G13 Labs, dependable at 8 days, big yield and fast finishing too!
* Northern Lights x BigBud (NL x BB) from World of Seeds, 8-9 days in the dome, bushy plant with big, fast yield.
* Critical Sensi Star (CSS) from Sensi Seeds, orange-bud! 10 days in the dome but the wait is worth it! Top early for
big bushy plant.

Beginning cloners -- There are a few things you have to buy. Domes should not be less than 9 inches tall. Clones grow! Make
sure your dome seals pretty well. You want to keep a half-inch of water in the dome at all times. YOU WANT TO SEE CONDENSATION
INSIDE YOUR DOME EVERY TIME YOU CHECK!!!!! So invest another $25 in a seedling heat mat. This will make all the difference in the
world towards your success rate. If you don't get the right domes with a heat mat you are not addressing 2 easy to fix problems.

Good luck, BigSteve.

And i would say pick your 2 favorite out of those 4 for clones...and run a side by side comparison or see if they both would be good to clone for your situation...or just run 2 strains :) and btw how does that NL x BB grow overall from seed brotha?? I got one on the way as a freebie. Thanks Good Read

I already did the comparing. All 4 are outstanding. But you are right. Everyone has different tastes.
You simply cannot go wrong with the CSS, the orange-bud. Big solid nugs that could have been
centerfolds in High Times. The CSS has more sativa genes than I usually like, but this one is worth
the extra time associated with sats.

my NLxBB always roots fast but mine is a much longer flower time. 11-12 weeks and the harvest isnt very good from the time it takes to grow. i got it as a cutting so i could be wrong on the strain, but not recommended by me. mine is tall and lanky. just my 2 cents.

and agian i coulda been lied to on wat the strain really is.

My NL x BB sounds different than yours bubba. My pheno has side branches growing along the main stem and mostly-indica looking leaves.
Buds and colas are fully formed at 4 weeks flowering with orange pistils showing up soon after. After 5 1/2 weeks they re sticky with mostly
milky tris.
