I've been debating for awhile about the best option for lighting in my tent... 3x3x6.... I'm a beginner, have never grown before And plan on growing organic in soil.. All suggestions/input would be much appreciated

I have been set on the gavita 600/750 de lamp, but I've noticed a lot of low height tent growers use 400 w mh because of space issues...

I'm sure you could rock a 600 with the right ventilation and an air cooled hood. Buy a dimmable 600 and play around with it. I bought a 400 and immediately regreted not getting the 600 for just a little more money.

Db i have it narrowed down to the lec and the gavita, I'm just having a hard time deciding which is best suited for my space... Am I correct in assuming that with the gavita 600 in a 6' tent, the plants with pots could not be much taller than 3-3.5ft or I would risk burning them?

The lec, The gavita will be too hot for your space and they need height, at least 36 inches to canopy.
The lec lamps come in two different temps, one 3100 kelvin for flower and a 4200 kelvin for full spectrum, you could veg and flower under either but the results may be better if you do what I did and buy a 4200k lamp for veg and switch to 3100k when it comes time to flower. again , the gavita is too much light for your small space but just right for an LEC.
I do recommend sun systems lec 315 but there are others out.

Yea that's nice that it comes in two different lamp temps, thanks for the great input... I've been leaning towards the gavita but I'm almost convinced it's too much for my situation

This would be the perfect light for that space, better yield than a 400 hps (closer to a 600) and less heat to deal with for <$500 ready to plug in.

My argument, you're putting a $500 light into a 3x3x6 space, that is a shipping box, I wouldn't waste my money for that much space. A $150 t-5 will work great for that small area.

I would agree with the money thing but until you've run one of these you wouldn't understand why someone who does would recommend it. They are built to do 3x3 very well, if yield is the end goal I don't care how many T5's you could cram into that space, they would not match the yield of one of these lights. The LEC would pay for itself in the first run.
