sweet man :) i like the set up.do you have a fan??if not get one also you can move your plant a little closer to the lights, its looking nice.you have at least 35 days to go you should really consider giving some molasses,or even add some new fresh soil to the top of your pot.that will give it a little boost of goodness :)

ya man id brush that sand off and add some new potting soil to the top then when you water all the nutrients in the soil will act as your fertilizer :) just a thought seeing as you dont want to add nutes and aswell because taht soil has to be getting tired you can see it in the plant she's screaming for nutes :(

Yeah, the sand is coming off tomorrow... There were gnats flying around and the sand confuses them and prevents them from laying any eggs, and suffocates the already laid eggs. I am thinking about using the molassas, but I am scared I might mess up... Any info?

I do have a big osliating fan blowing the air around in the room... It's just behind me whenever I take pictures. I don't want to get the plant too close to the lights because, knowing my dumbass, something would go wrong. I'd be the only one in the world to burn a plant with cfl's. HAHA!!

no worries re hermi-ism at this point is my thought. I think it would be difficult to screwup the molasses. One tablespoon per gallon is a very mild dose. But really its only up to you. You should only do whatever you feel comfortable with. The bud developing is wonderful. the plant is doing well. Though the colour could be better ..... but I've already said that .... so ..... good job buddy. its gonna give you some smoke for sure .....

Dont be afraid to use Molasses. Very effective nutrient and extremely difficult to mess any thing up. We can ALL agree its a must for explosive tasty buds.

Cool, cool... I am really thinking about using it! I have made it this far with out anything, but I really want those sweet tasting buds everyone says molasses produces! Is there a specific kind you recommend or just any brand? Can I get the right molasses at Wal-Mart?

Well, it has been decided to count the days from the start of 12/12... Which means that my plant is 30 days into flowering today!

I am waiting on my 32x jewlers microscope to come in the mail... As soon as it does, I'll be able to see the trichs way better than I can now. I am def. going to harvest by looking at the plant and not counting days. I'm assuming harvest needs to happen when 3/4 of the pistils are orange, and the trichs turn milky white. Correct?

That depends on what type of buzz you're looking for... And you aren't gauranteed to see all milky/amber... sometimes some will stay clear for quite a while. If you want a really heavy couchlock, you'll look for 40-50% amber then the rest clear/milky... Your amber trich count is what you really wanna watch. Congrats on your homegrown man, there's nothing more satisfying than sparkin up some of your own :hump:

Yeah, even though today is the last day of week 5 (day 35), I'm still going to look at the trichs instead of counting days. I want to make sure I don't wait too long though...

Is it possible to see the trichs amber color with out a magnification?

it's rather difficult to see trich color, but I can assure you you're nowhere near done at 35 days, even the faster flowering inica strains take a minimum of 60-70 days (depending on desired potency) Molasses can be found at walmart, but most walmarts don't carry unsulphured Blackstrap Molasses, they carry Grandma's though...

You really would rather have the Blackstrap, it only requires 1 tsp per gallon while you'll have to double up on the mothers (I use 1 tblsp of mothers) in order to get the same benefit... here's the blackstrap, there are a few different companies who make and distribute it http://www.shoporganic.com/product/wholesome-sweeteners-organic-unsulphured-blackstrap-molasses/sweeteners_syrups

If you look at the nutrition info you'll see that Blackstrap has higher concentrations than the Grandma's does as well as some vitamins not found in Grandma's...

I recommend getting the blackstrap if at all possible, it just makes more sense.

Here's a thread regarding molasses i stumbled across just a min. ago... I haven't read it but I'm sure there's a little bit of info in it,

People are telling me to wait a lot longer than I have expected... Looks like I might be waiting longer than 9 weeks to finish this girl. These pics are from 7-17-09. I'll post some new pics sometime soon...
It is day 38 of flowering today.
