London UK hard water

Hi peeps, I'm a grower in London and my water measures around 7.5 and I'm growing in soil. I know the perfect range is 6.5-6.8 so I've tried lowering it with apple cider vinegar. I've brought the level down but now the water smells slightly of vinegar so I'm not sure whether to give it or not. I've decided that deionized water is to expensive to be used regularly so does anyone else have experience of hard london/UK water in soil and can offer me advice? Thank you.

move on to coco and forget all about ph problems and improve your yield and growth rate

Your in soil so stick to natural.
Citric Acid or buy Canna organic Ph down.... same stuff. I'm in UK and much prefer the results using this over phosphoric/nitric acid(General hydro ph-)

yup, ph down from grow shop or local aquarium. Don't buy what i did and put loads in my hydro tank or your water before realizing it had a 6.5 buffer in it! had to drain and start again inc. the nutes because i forgot to do the ph first - noob!

Horses for courses... EVERYONE gets a better yield with THEIR medium ;)
No Ph issues in Coco... since when ? That's all on the grower to get the feed ph right, so saying no issues is wrong.

soil for deffo is the easiest safest option, although moving to ebb and flow hydro, wondered what i was ever scared of! apart from the odd fuck up like above;)

cheap spring water lol eden falls 35p/2l in asda ph 6.4, buxton around 7.2, i personally use one of them or mix together or with tap to change the ph around now and then and aslong as your only small scale costs nothing to do

I certainly had to maintain my ph with coco. It was very forgiving but i still had to ph my water else even with nutes it sat over 7.0 which they simply didn't like.

go to your local hydro shop and ask for PH down.. Add a very small drop to 2 ltres of water and that will defo sort your PH issues out.

I bought another deionized water bottle while I see if the ph level goes back up in the water I've added vinegar to (it's currently between 6.5 and 7). If all else fails I'll buy a ph down bottle but I'm trying to save money wherever I can and I've got loads of spare cider vinegar at home!!
