Does Lollipopping actually increase yield or does it create better quality buds? I’ve seen videos where people say it doesn’t really do anything then other people swear by it?

I guess it depends on how you go about it. I've never had good luck stripping my plants down really hard in flower. I do however take off everything down low in the canopy that won't develop into a decent sized dense bud. I guess it's my own modification of lollipopping in a way without taking so many leaves off the plant as a whole. Mine end up like this. I do it this way mainly to improve airflow under the canopy and also because I hate trimming little buds. This helps cut down on the larf a lot.

Great way to remove / pinch off sucker growth and larfy budsites. Stops wasted energy on low area growth.
Plus any of those lowers can be new cuttings. Air exchange increases through cleaning - keeps their Heiny clean. Lol.

Nice looking plants! Yeah I stripped all the my plants on the last run but they stretched to tall and I still ended up with a bunch of smaller buds but I just didn’t seem to see any of the top buds get bigger because I stripped the bottom of my plants

For me it simply makes things easier to deal with. It makes it easier to access the pot for maintenance and feeding. It allows air to flow. It also means I have less work to do come harvest time.
I have no idea if it makes the plant produce more or better weed, but I know it doesn't make it worse.

I believe it does a lil, because energy going to the lower bud sites gets redirected to the uppers.

+1, right there with ya'. I'd love to see a real study that shows it helps the plant put more energy above, or not. Sounds good in theory. Yes, it certainly makes life a lot easier!

Yep. Unless someone can present me with evidence that says it has a negative effect, then I am going to keep doing it. Because I have never had a bad outcome as a direct result.

Agreed. We have grown Tomatoes for years and we have always done that. It is the advice given out by the BBC and the Royal Horticultural Society. The amount of study into growing perfect tomatoes must be huge, if it were bad then it would have been debunked by now.

well only energy saved is the trimming energy if you leave it you will have a lot of popcorns.good for making edibles....

I haven't been schooled on what suckers are. What exactly are they? Small lower branches?

I remember this same query being discussed years ago. Someone provided a study on grape growers (yes different thing but) the study showed good benefits from removing low growth and also from exposing grape (flower) sites to light.
