It's best to pre lollypop first week of flowering then around week 4 one head and do ya thang......but keeping all the leaves is best thing to do if you want a big yield...lollypoping is just for looks..

If you don't believe me do an experiment and lollypop one plant and compare it to one you left natural....you'll be happy you lollypopped one plant

If u plan on vegging them for a long time and going for max yeild than def clean up the under canapy. Maybe not lollipop but maintain a good undercanapy.

I didn't train and let the plant "do its thing" and I regret it big time bro, that was the biggest thing I learned...I hate learning the hard way so I def rec lollipop/trimmed lower canapy.

not only does it make for amazing colas, it makes the plant mature at a much more overall consistently.

Besides, u dont want a fuckload of little airy spindly buds that will not ever be anyrhing worthwhile robbing the main cola/s like my plants...

If I was u I would clear out all the undergrowth, top it 2 or 3 times and flower when they have reached a rapid veg state.

I try to have all my training done in veg but a little trimming spaced out it flower doesnt seem to stress to bad.

Maybe I vegged for to long I donno thats just my experience in dwc with a 1k 6 plant 5x5

Removing lower bud sites is terrible for yield, full stop. You are much better off defoliating the top fan leaves to allow for better light penetration, then you don't get light airy buds, they become dense little nugz.

Why grow little pissy shoots that wont come to anything?!
Jah,its better to do all your trimming in veg but if when your plant starts to flower you need to remove more dont worry about it,it dosent harm them.Good luck

So if lollipoping is bad for yeild what can I do to increase yield ive toped my plants.
One above 4th node amd one obove 5th.
Should I just let it go and do its thing or is there more I can do to increase yield

It only makes sense to use lolipops if you have a large amount of plants crammed into a small space.

It still makes sense to cut bottom 1/3 of suckers on the branches from those 3 plants when you go 12/12, but don't cut off the branches themselves to become "single cola" plants.

Bottom line is you want an even and full canopy when "the stretch" is finished regardless of how you get there.

Is it better to lollipop or just let the plant do its thing?

What a load of shite.Have you even ever grown before?Take fan leaves off but leave the small bud sites that come to nothing?!?!lol

In all seriousness, forget it all, concentrate on getting everything else perfect, maybe top for more colas otherwise focus on nutrients and the environmentals, once you have done a few grows and able to replicate your results consistently, then start to experiment with different pruning and training techniques.

lol, yes, I have a grow or two under my belt and I've seen the results first hand, I'm not just regurgitating what I've read on the internet, but meh, whatever works for you.

Topping is not lollipopping.
Try reading Uncle Ben's topping method.
Read. comprehend. Digest.
Repeat.
Develop an understanding of what your doing and why.

Thinning the bottom third of each branch is sort of similar to lollipopping so lump them in the same category.

I like to take Y clones, (pretopped for another clone) and lollipop those, but they're technically not "lollipops", they're double pops. It's sort of a loose definition.

I think the hard definition is that each lollipop has 1 main shoot, the bottom 1/3 cut, and very short veg time, but any of those 3 techniques can be used separately.
