lolipopping 4 weeks into flowering

hi,

i have a bubblecious plant that isnt gonna yeild like i hoped. she is 33 days into flowering. i am thinking of trimming the lower buds to help her focus on the others. i would probably be removing 4-6 of the lowest branches.

is it too late to do this? would this just stunt to overall bud growth and stress her out this far into flowering?

thanks in advance, and here is a pic taken like 4 days ago of her top buds.

even if you are not sure, just your opinion or thoughts would help me out. thanks

Well from what I've read about the SoG method, trimming off the bottom third of the plants allows for better air circulation and increased focus on the tops. But I think you're supposed to do that from the first introduction to 12/12. I'm not sure.

In theory it sounds like a solid idea. :hump:

I'm with TVMASDL on this one, I think the conventional wisdom is to stress the plant before entering the flowering stage and to minimize undesired stress during flowering to maximize quality and quantity.

And anyway, at this point, if circulation is of no concern, why trim 'em? All you'd be doing is taking energy away from the plant, the plant has nothing to gain from a loss of leaves full of nutrients which will be drawn on heavily in the last stages of flowering.

i agree with you guys. just was hoping to hear someone say that they have done it with good results.

the small branches i would be taking off are at the bottom, so the light doesnt really penetrate to them. the budsites on these branches will yeild basically nothing. so really it is like the plant is wasting energy on keeping them alive. the leaves on these branches are small and not taking in too much energy for the plant.

but the stress on the plant caused by removing them is my concern, as it is with you guys.

thanks for the responses!

It's actually not wasting any energy really keeping them alive. It's going to eat them towards the end of flowering anyway. :weed:

Jact55,
If I am not mistaken...Al trims bottom 3rd after first week, then again after the 3rd week. I dont think it would be too much stress. You leave the fan leaves and just clip the branches. Check his journal under Hydro/Aero. It should be in the first 10 pages.

I don't know bro I don't have any real experience in this situation but, I've been doing some reading on lollipopping and am going to try it next go around. With that said I would not cut those lower buds. She is going to fill out nicely in the next 6 weeks bro leave em. You can start smoking them before your main cola and what not.

:leaf:Peace:leaf:

Hey guys good day.
Im trying to get the most branches off a plant, I cut one of the tops not both and I get two branches from what i trimmed right as someone from this site has said. I get lollipopping but is it really needed outdoors? looking to get more branches for higher yield. Any help appriciated. thanks graiggrady.
