lolipop techniques

When and how much do you lolipop. My method is to snip the first two sets of branches during veg, then three weeks into flower snip the first two sets of side branching on lowest branch and first set of side branching on second lowest branch. This method has worked well for me but could be better at reducing the amount of popcorn buds. I would like to hear your methods.

Rule of thumb with lollipopping is if the branch is already thick, it's too late.

I remove growth tips from lower nodes as soon as they're big enough to cut without screwing up.

because there is lots of new growth during the first two weeks. If I do it at the start of week three there is only the smallest of buds on the side branching.
But that's my point. There is lots of new growth. Meaning lots of energy used, for you then just to wait a week before chopping them. Why not lollipop the thing before it has put all that energy into branches that you'll just be removing?

Good points. Thanks. What your saying is to pluck as soon as they appear? How late into flower do you do this?
