Oh, you went into the floor to secure the door.. Ya got me, and I was REALLY trying to be creative, I used to be a locksmith before I turned mechanic:)
Jigsaw puzzle-I think everybody was like me and trying to figure how to secure the door to frame :)

Actually, one part of that is attached to the door, the other to the jamb. It cannot be seen at all if you look under the door, you have to reach your hand under and then cock it slightly upward to manipulate the latch.

This is an ebay item, no idea where you would get such items locally.
Cheap simple effective mount on door at any desired location.

Try to look for magnetic door lock on eBay or net. There is a latch that you screw inside that is operated from outside the door by you moving a strong magnet at the front of it. Pretty cool. No power needed, No key hole or anything on the outside to suggest there is a lock there. Stealthy.

RFID card reader and electromagnetic lock. The lock can be installed from the inside and the card could be swiped from the outside and the door would open.

Edit: Or hide a switch somewhere

Edit2: Try item number: 261071042936 on eBay as well... It has 100lb's of holding force.
