LOCKN is practically in my back yard, give or take 40 miles, and in 9 years being here, I've never made one.
One of my old touring buddies lives in Charlottesville. Years ago he called and told me about the first LOCKN. I said no thanks, I’m too old, etc. Since then he, our friend from Richmond, and another from CO have gotten together on the farm each year. We have had others join, like my son and nephew, their kids, etc.
The lineups are always exceptional (even the Phish year didn’t suck), the vibe is perfect and fun. We went from a couple tents and tarps to a sweet camper and huge setup.
So, I’m thankful for my C-Ville friend for talking me into it all those years ago. I have been fortunate to see a shit load of bands and made even more friends.
Come on down to the farm in August!
