my pepper spray did not work...after I watered the plant...the next day gnats crawling in the soil...so now? wtf do I do? I don't have access to any sand...there is that method I've read with the wine and the sand...but if I have larva inside...I am thinking I should use some chemicals. Only problem is I need to buy them from the internet cause in this country where I am now...they don't have anything at markets.
Please advice, I am starting to panic

After being infested with spider mites from some clones I bought, I frantically searched for all the information I could find. Believing each and every new cure discovery, I tried them all... everything from Neem based, Pyrethrin based, Tobacco, Garlic, and Habenero juice and even a 21 day toxic chemical concoction that is so strong, it gets diluted by 1-3 ml per gallon! NOTHING will rid us of these little bastards. I saw webs on two plants less than 24 hours after spraying the nasty chemical (don't remember its' name), so I am again left with the shits. I have 150 clones I just got again and am resolved to the fact that I will be fighting them until I (and I suppose us all) will have to:
1) Toss every plant and parts thereof.
2) Wash (strong bleach and pesticide soap solution) everything: Ceiling, walls and floor; equipment; containers; media; pots; etc. Electronics would get wiped down with alcohol and soft cloth. Literally sterilize the room, entrance(s) etc.
3) Start over, this time from seed and NEVER bring someone's clones in again.
4) Have a pan with a mat that holds moisture in it, by the entrance, loaded with bleach, to wipe feet upon entering.
5) Don't bring others to the room.
6) Wear clean clothes and wash after each time visited.
I just cannot toss 3 ft. all flowering beauties, but am going to give it a good fight. My wife and I have to work in the "Bloom Room" after hours as I utilize the heat from my HID's (8X600HPS on light tracks) at night. My 12/12 is from 5PM until 5AM. The chemicals get so horrible, we have to leave the room several times in the course of spraying. Bad fumes, and Habenero juice will ferment if you make large batches (I did) to have it ready, and its' smell is horrendous!
I also think it is too late with those clones I brought in, BUT I have noticed several strains I have, are resistant to these little pests. I have over a dozen strains and am going to keep an eye on which ones are resistant. That might just be another viable solution.

Go down to home depot and get some "mosquito dunks" 1/4 to1/2 tablet crushed up and watered in should kill 'em. They contain Biological pesticides and are extremely safe. They will kill most any larvae living in the soil.

Thank you Jack, I'll go tomorrow at the B&Q ( the only place in this city where I can have the hope to find something similar ) and I'll try the cure.

if you want them gone in 7 days or less, get beneficial nematodes. $12 or so on ebay. fuck all that other shit. look it up. this is your last warning.

Yes, the nematodes will work well, but I had to buy 'em 3 times before I got a viable colony. Unless you can get them locally, mosquito dunks are the next best thing. I wish I had tried the the last infestation I had.

well, if you use mosquito dunks, its probably easier to granulate them in a bag or something, and mix it into the top 1 inch of soil, than to try to get them to dissolve. They won't dissolve in water, and you'll end up just pouring them in one area instead of spreading it out properly.

Again, thank you for the advices, I'll see what I can find at B&Q (the only store in this city where I would be able to have hope to find this things)

I don't think I've ever seen an indoor soil grow that didn't have a few fungus gnats flying around.
I got rid of 99% of mine by not over watering, also hung up fly tape, I also break up the surface of my soil every day with a fork. I break up the soil before and after watering. If the top is not moist the gnats don't like it.

this is how they look. I've gave them some wine...I am hoping to have time to search for something on Friday to kill them. My last watering was Monday with 200mls of water and indeed, after each watering they tend to appear more...

a layer of diatomaceous earth will keep them out of your soil, they try to get thru the stuff and its like microscopic razor sharp and it cuts shit out of them, until they lay egg in your roots/soil the only hazard is the adults flying around will stick to your thcs!

get them bad in hydro ( the larvae, adults are a easy kill) and they'll tear your shit up, nematodes won't work because they don't seem to live in water. In soil they're great I'm sure.

It would be a pleasure to see them suffer! I'll see what I can find today at the shop. Thanks
