Hi everyone,
Yesterday i noticed little black flies hanging out on my plants in the veg. stage.
I think these guys lay their eggs in the medium and then white worms shows up and eat the roots. Last time i had this problem aphids showed up and completely damaged my crop. There are not much flies/worms at this stage and i want to do what ever is possible to kill these nasty terrorists before they take over...
Is there any product that can help me?
Some threads i read yesterday says leaving sliced potato on the medium (rockwool inside soil) or leaving yellow sticky traps (????) on the soil.
Please help! anything will be very appreciated!
Thankyou!

Its fungus nats and no they wont kill your root system lol kinda silly. They are just evasive pests. Get some stick fly traps and you'll be fine. Maybe put a little sand on top of your soil to keep them from breeding.

H202 works quite well for pest prevention. Ive been using 35% at 7ml per gallon for a couple years now. Still got a few nats here and there but they are barely noticeable.

Don't buy it. Here is a piece from the link I sent. Read the fungus gnat section. Roots are your lifeline if you want a healthy plant. Ask Uncle Ben.
"These creatures infest root systems, damaging larger roots and consuming root hairs."

Or you can start talking from years of experience not some book.
Im sure Uncle Ben would agree with me that fungus nats as long as they are controlled with things such as yellow sticky trap, and h202 here and there they are not that big of a deal.
Get a few years of experience under your belt son, then well talk ;)
Oh and also its the larva that feed on the roots not the adult fungus nats.

I agree.... IF they are kept under control. You did not mention that;) I think it is a big mistake to just say it is not a problem with no explanation.
I do have a few years under my belt and who gives a fuck anyway. Just trying to be helpful?! I hate cocky people that don't explain and dismss shit without an explanation.
