Little advice on lighting.

When my plants are just sprouts can i put my light really close? ive read you should keep it farther away during veg then you would budding but ive also seen people say as lonh as it doesnt burn it its fine. what are your guys thoughts? would it pull to much nutrients or would it be fine?

I would keep the power low and start it about 24" above the plants. Gradually increase the power and drop it down a couple inches at a time. Just pay attention to the plant, you'll know if it doesn't like something.

okay its only 9 days old the light is about 24 in rn thanks for the advice should i do 20/4 or 18/6 i love sleep i feel like my plants would too

24-30 inches is usually a good starting point.

A link to the light would be helpful. Is it actually 1200 watts or a blurple that says 1200 but actually draws much less?

Thanks for that. Idk if this light is enough for 5 - 10g pots. You should be ok for veg, but if this light with both switches on so you are pushing all of the 248w it said it puts out. I would either get another one for the flowering stage, or upgrade to an LED with white light/samsung diodes, and meanwell drivers. I learned my lesson with those type of LED.

So 20-24" is your sweet spot for now til they produce a couple sets of leaves.. then you can drop it down a to 18" once you get a few sets of fan leaves.
