Liquid Oxygen

Anybody used liquid oxygen? am using a 20ltr nft system and this is the first time i have used liquid oxygen. Just wondering if anybody has used it before and if it made any difference to your grow
cheers

Its by Growth Technology - Liquid Oxygen

Liquid Oxygen – the well known cleansing and oxygenating agent for hydroponic systems

Liquid Oxygen contains hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) which is a highly unstable molecule. It will quickly break down in the nutrient tank releasing a free atom of oxygen. This oxygen atom is extremely reactive and will attach itself to either another atom, forming a stable oxygen molecule, or attack a nearby organic molecule, such as a virus or fungal spore. Liquid Oxygen can eliminate existing diseases and help to prevent future ones.

A daily addition of Liquid Oxygen to the nutrient tank will invigorate the plant and increase nutrient uptake, leading to faster growth rates. In plants the extra oxygen provided will massively stimulate protein production at the cellular level. This will greatly enhance the photosynthetic process, leading to bushier plants with larger leaves, thicker stems and shorter internodes. Plants will be stronger and leaves will be darker, thus collecting light with greater efficiency and further improving photosynthetic response.

so was wondering if anyone has used it and if it does what it says on the tin

Well, I know hydrogen peroxide works great, and I'm guessing thats all that is in this liquid oxygen so you'd be better off buying straight hydrogen peroxide than that stuff.

It's just hydrogen peroxide... Yeah it helps in hydro when trying to keep algae down.

Personally I would just go buy some strong generic H2O2 instead of paying 4x as much for the same thing but with a fancy brand.

its easy for me as grow shop only minutes away and its only £10 a ltr and i wouldnt no were to get h202 other than grow shop

That's not too terrible of a price. Here in the states you can buy H2O2 at all pharmacies, and all grocery stores - it's a really common first aid treatment and used for cleaning and sanitizing. Problem with shopping at grocery stores is that you'll generally find low H2O2 solutions - like 3%. Might be worth checking a pharmacy if you are interested in price shopping.

shame i dont live in the states lol like i say dude the extra i spend on it at the grow shop i would spend more in fuel goin to pharmacy or the grocery store

Definitely Peroxide. The 3% is good. Pure peroxide would probably melt skin. Higher potency peroxides are available in the US up to 12% for bleaching hair. When adding to nutes/water for hydro growing, a very small amount is needed. I used bubbling buckets with about 3 gallons of water and I added roughly 1 fluid oz of 4% H2o2 So that's one fluid oz of h2o2 at 4% added to roughly 450 fluid oz of water. And I did see results. Have even attributed it to saving the crop when I didn't have enough time to change nutes and/or root rot begins.

Wow some really off information here...
H202 (liquid oxygen) from a hydro store is 30% peroxide, and yes it will melt skin. You are supposed to wear gloves when adding it to the res, it says so right on the bottle. There are several brands out there, and they don't cost that much (8-10 bucks), definitely more expensive than the $1 bottle of 3% peroxide sold at any grocery/pharmacy store. The 3% is effective for foliar spray, in fact it's recommended, but adding 3% to a res is totally ineffective. It will break down in minutes and won't effectively kill all bacteria in a res because it's already so dilute. It also won't add much oxygen to your water. If your interested in killing pathogens/bacteria in your water, or you want to increase your oxygen levels then go with the 30% sold at hydro stores. And don't buy anything that's over $10 a bottle, I've seen some go for as much as $30 at one ripoff hydro store, and of course that was the only brand of 30% peroxide that they carried.
The best ways of increasing oxygen in your water levels are: keep water temp down (lower temp=more oxygen molecules can be stored in the water) and add an airstone or two. h202 is pretty ineffective for anything other than killing/controlling bacteria and water based pathogens imo.

as long as it puts a bit oxygen in my res and keeps it clean and healthy thatl do me! im adding 10ml to 20ltrs daily and have seen an improvement in my plants after 3days of usin it, so i guess im pretty happy with it so far

Yup. This is all true, cept the H2O2 listed is 17.5%. If at all interested I can provide links to 30% for the same price, but once you figure in shipping it would likely come out to the same. Definitely not a way to introduce additional O2 but a great way for keeping things sterile.

call around.
if you can find h2o2 locally it will be a LOT cheaper than your "hydroponic" product.
Try to get higher percents, as the lower percentage ones have some additives that arent so great.

30-45% would be best.

Al B Fuct has a lot to say on using h2o2, might want to check out his threads

ur not supposed to use 3% becuz it is to unstable compaired to the higher concentrations. let me find the link.

the stuff your interested in has been tested for use with plants, and tells you the correct amount to use.
so your better off getting that stuff.10 quid aint much anyway, its cheaper than the food grade stuff, plus you get alot more.

Ive used this stuff, its just hydrogen peroxide at the end of the day the amount of o2 it actually gives off in the res is minimal and doesnt last 5 mins from what ive read so if your buying this just to add more o2 to the res your wasting your money, besides NFT dont need it. If a sterile res is what you want then try a nute conditioner.
