i was just wondering whether this light will actually work for vegatative growth and flowering it says it will but due to its heat it will have to be kept far away for a young plant causing the plant to stretch for light. im low on cash atm so i was just wondering wether it would be best to buy one of these and use for all stages of growth or to buy several cfls to start the growth, bearing in mind i have no money atm

there are also alot of cfl bulbs of different and dual spectrums which i could use to start the growth but would it be a worthwhile investment buying a cfl just for the beginging of its growth
and i just realised how many questions i asked lol

Dude, it sounds like you have a HID lamp which with the right bulb and ballast can be use for all stages of growth, check you ballast out and see if it's an HPS/Mh ballast or just HPS or Mh ballast first.

Any way, i think its always best to start your babies off under a CFL until they are 2/3 weeks old, no need to fry them with all HID light just yet, Also, your going to need some type of IN-LINE exhaust fan to keep you HID light cool enough to be able to get closer to your plants and stop strech.

What wattage is your HID lamp?

peace

How many plants to you have?
check screwfix direct for some lighting, tubes and cfl will work.

Edit, they also have a few inline fans, about 40 quid, you will need one. you have the right bulb to use for all growth too.

Fans are easy to setup, check out the design and setup forum to get an idea, i carnt remember the actual name of the bulbs but it's 6400k roughly.

Even with the cold conditions your in it will still way too much heat for them., you could get 4 under that 600 no problem
