Lights, Heat, and Your plants!

(just a simple observation from an experienced grower passing on some info to think about).

my parents were here the last few weeks, forcing me to harvest everything in flower, and combining the grow rooms to 1 managable (yet sad) grow area.

After 2 weeks of cold (temps ranging 60 to 75F), and shit lighting (85w CFL - left it on 24/0), i come to realize that when shit hits the fan, and the plant is struggling, HEAT seems more important then the lighting.

What happened was i had everything in a closet, with a space heater by the door. after 2 weeks, most of the plants towards the heater, grew faster, and bigger, and bushier. even if they recieved much less light (some are 2 feet away from the CFL). other plants, directly under the CFL, and further from the heater, struggled.

Thankfully, im returning everything to the previous set up now, with 3 separate grow rooms, clone, veg, flower, and all my HID lamps, pumps, filters, fans, etc...

but i think its important to know, if the plant is struggling and theres a list of problems, heat should NOT be underestimated. in fact, when there are numerous problems, perhaps heat is the 1 thing that will make sure the plant survives. More heat = dryer soil, so you can water more, giving them more nutes, also less chance of anything like rot or mold occuring. if you have a list of issues, and arent sure what to pay for and fix first, perhaps a heat lamp (or AC unit) isnt just another expense, but one that should be prioritized.

i have 30 some plants, and the 10 closest to the heater are bigger and bushier, and theres no way they were getting anywhere close to the same amount of light. they also grew sideways, towards the heater, and not towards the light

no idea, but im thinking its a bit of dryer soil, plus a temp closer to what they are used to.
either way, i got some 20 shit plants that are looking real bad, like first time grower bad. and i got another 10 that are ready for flowering (and will start tomorrow)
all plants recieved the same amount of water and nutes. just the colder ones stayed wet longer got more light. the warmer ones dried up faster, but were darker.
