Nobody really gets a gram a watt ... Unless they are weighing the main stem all the fan leaves wet ? Most of the time people show a plant that us experience growers Know probley has 3-4 oz and there tell the sheep on hear that's what 1000 grams of weed looks like on a plant . Gram a watt is a joke ..

agree, I usually get like 150-200g of dried/cured smoke of 480W of LEDs (true watt) but it more like 120g of top quality smoke and some lower bud`s (I use to make oil of)

so its more like 1/2 or even 1/4 gram per watt, depending on how you see it (wet normal weight 4x depending on how tight the nug`s are)

now I don't say it is`t possible, a single plant with a long Veg time in a scrog and a 600W HPS might grow close to the 1g per watt, if every thing is optimal and the genetics is top line and a top yielder, maybe some +14 week`s sativa, but IME most normal indica hybrid`s with a Veg time on 5-8 week`s yield 2-3 oz on averages in 8 week`s time, remember its not just gram per Watt. its also how long time it take, at least if you do find power use ages important, what is important for me is that I can grow enough smoke for myself, of good quality, with out using to much power

I like the idea of heat control the best. Don't get me wrong my light is vented and I don't have heat issues but there again I just like the sound of them. I would like to try led just to satisfy my own curiosity.

well I used to run a 600W HPS, later on with a cool hood on, but do to safety, heat and the hole idea of saving power and money in the long run made me make the switch, not sum thing I have any regrets over, just remember, get quality LEDs (Etc. Area-51) and remember, its not magic, you don't get results like a 600W HPS with 120W of Chinese LEDs, I cover the same space (LEDs are pretty much one directed) and get similar results with 480W of LEDs as I had with the 600W HPS, a bit smaller Bud`s but just as compact and maybe even more potent and yield is about the same, so up side is, next to no heat to fight (great at summer time) no bulb exchanges, ever, and 120W less used, no heat print and no hot bulb that can curse a fire at worst, better spectrum (if you do your research and get quality LEDs) down side is that they cost like 5X as much as a MH/HPS set up, but 120W less 12 hrs a day in Etc. 5 years with no bulb exchanges either should make up for it and more

all in all, another way to grow then with HIDs but it works

I have never seen or heard of a led producing a comporable yield to a hid given identical veg times
