150 watt hqi, 14k bulb...im thinking 14k is to high...will it work for a plant or 2? plan on eventually going with a 400 watt switchable between mh/hps

hqi is basically a double ended metal halide bulb, its from a reef tank setup and wanted to know if i changed the bulbs if i could make a grow light out of it, 14k is really on the blue side and i don't think it will work.

do regular bulbs fit the socket. i`ve never heard of a bulb with 14kelvin. you need to be way higher kelvin than that.
is that the aquarium bulb

I think he means 14,000K. I've seen reef tanks with MH lighting. They go to 20,000K also.
Not sure what the horticulture benefit would be though because those lights are designed to penetrate water.
