can i put a MH bulb in a HPS unit- i have heard both yes and no... one says its fine the other says it might blow up... im not tryin to play with fire - please respond with educated knowledge. i have a 150 watt system

what i know is your ballist must have a switch for MH or HPS if you dont have it i dont think it would be safe to use different bulb

i know that MH is better for growth and HPS for flowering but i dont want to spend the money for a MH setup... any suggestions?

I am fairly certain that you can buy a bulb called a "metal halide conversion bulb" that will work in any HPS ballast of the same wattage.
