lighting?

So I am currently running 2x315w CMH, I really really like these lights, but I am in an 8x4 right now and picking up a 4x4 for veg. I need to put one other light in the 8x4 and will need to pick up another light for the veg tent. When I first decided on CMH I figured I would end up mixing in some LED's as I am concerned with high temps. So I was curious do LED's run much cooler than CMH's, cause I was surprised that they run as cool as they do? Also what brand of LED would you guys recommend? I am either going to stick one LED in the 8x4 and use one in the 4x4 or I could stick the 2 LED's in the 8x4 and one of the CMH's for veg. But I am excited to try out the 10k CMH bulbs towards the end of flower and if they seem to be all they are cracked up to be, I will probably leave the 2 CMH's in the 8x4.

Depends on your actual wattage used. A 315w actual draw LED will produce the same amount of heat as a 315 actual draw CMH. Now you may be able to get your plants closer to the LEDs than you could to the cmh bulb depending on the LED.

1 watt used = 3.41 BTU

Also on the LED it kind of depends on your price range and if you want to do any DIY?

I really like mixing CMH with LED. And for brand HLG is a good one.

Ahhhh ok, As far as DIY I imagine a huge bag of LED's and hours of soldering, but what I can tell most DIY LED kits are just attaching drivers to boards.... is this correct? I am kinda bouncing back and forth between Spider Farmer and HLG. I mean I have already dropped a lot of money into this hobby why go cheap now right....

that's one that is at the top of my list for sure! Have you tried the 10k bulbs at all yet? The companies producing them are not brands I would have picked to purchase the other bulbs... but thinking of giving the Growers's Choice 10k a try.

I've just used the Phillips 3100K bulbs. The CMH seems to make frostier nugs than just LED. It's the added UV is my thoughts.
