Lighting Question

Hey everyone I have a question about lighting once i start the flowering process. Currently, I have three (22inch?) cool white lights on my 11 seedlings. I'm hoping for 5 or 6 females once they show sex. They've been growing for approximately 3 weeks and I'm hoping to start flowering within 2 weeks from now. My friend says I need a lot more light once I start flowering so I'm wondering how much more light I will need, and what kind of light I'll need? I need something that can be easily attainable, like at Walmart or something. If anyone can help me I'd greatly appreciate it! Thanks.

For what your doing with the amount of plants you have you really should be looking at something like 400W HPS, which you wont find at walmart but you can online or ebay. Cfl's are an option but you'd need about 25-30 of the 2700K in order to get good buds, which would not be cost effective. JMHO

so you're saying I'd only need one of these and my grow room would be good? And what else would i need to combine with this? I keep hearing about some ballast thing but i have no idea if i need that and they look expensive.

if your light fixture is mogul based, you wont.. just a reflector... if not, you wanna get a mogul to medium adapter... which i noticed on that site..

Great, than it won't be as expensive as I thought. Do you know a good site that has decent reflectors at a cheap price? Thanks for all the help everyone, by the way.

build one. some plexiglass cut to size and some mylar on the inside of it to reflect it back... people use cardboard... but people are stupid..

alright so i just need a lightbulb and i can make a reflector by myself? anything else that may be needed? im growing in my closet by the way.

dude,you need a ballast to go with that light.you cant just plug it in.

Im talking about something such as this : High Tech Garden Supply And as far as I know fridge is right. Yes you need the correct base, but you still need a ballast and ignitor, which is in this kit. I just ordered a 150W setup for the box that I have delivered it was $88. Probably not big enough for what you've got going on, but still better than the CFL's
