Hi All, a question came to mind, does the glass in front of the lamp effect the growing and production of the plant. If I were on a bus a sunny day my arm in the sun it would not get sun burnt. So there is something there, something to do with UV light I think I am no Boffin so if there is a Boff around Lol thanks. Thanks for your answers and reads in advance, many thanks happy Growing….:joint:

Window glass, especially on vehicles, is commonly formulated specifically to filter out certain amounts of unwanted light. That's a whole nuther story!

The "Safety Glass" on a grow light should be made of the most "Transparent" glass possible (hopefully!) - and ,like with most things, you get what you pay for!

Most all glass does, indeed, filter out some amount of light energy. Just how much is really hard to tell because manufacturers claims are mostly long on "Advertising Hype" and short on "facts and figures"
