lighting question

I'm a little confused. Which cfl's are best for flowering, the 23W and 26W, or the 42W? Or what would be a good mixture, more lower wattage or more higher wattage? Thanx again everybody!

thanx a lot for clearing that up for me. would it be beneficial to put 1 or 2 lower wattage bulbs with it?

It really doesn't matter which wattages you use, all that matters is if you go smaller wattages, you'll just need more. I would definitely say if you can afford big cfls, go for it. What would be smart would be to have your powerful cfls above the plants, and have 2 lower watt cfls on the sides.

well i don't want to promote bushiness. this is a "from seed to 12/12" grow in a cabinet that measures "22.5Hx"13Wx"15D. so i don't really think side lighting is in my best interest. thanx though!

---My Attempted Thread:

Hey guys.

Im going to attempt to grow in a cupboard with no ventalation which is 34"depth x 24"width.

I need to know what sort of lighting i should use, like almost exact wattages etc... i havent got a big budget AT ALL.

I have done a lot of research, but i don't seem to get a good answer.

Anyways, thanks alot guys ;)

Regards,
Nathan.

as much lighting as you can fit in the box is your best interest...

not even remotely joking when saying this about cfl's. they work, yes. they work just as well as hid in most cases if they are done right. but the cost and bud quality is a big downfall to cfls. go figure unless u get them bulk or on a rare deal each cfl will cost you $3+.

You lost me there. They work as good as hID lights but the quantity and quality of the bud suffer?? so honestly as we all know they dont hold a candle to hid lights lol

work as good= meaning work as good as hid @ keeping plant alive and still enables a bud. buds are loser fitted together, so quality takes a hit. most people dont use enough so yield and thc content suffer as well.
but they also keep noob's from setting their(parents) houses on fire and getting the fire department to show up and kick in the door....... and they have less heat meaning the room could be better ventilated.
so yes i agree. they suck balls, but when it's all u got (or having some other horrible reason for using them)....... they work.

maybe people using cfl's to grow, because of lighting cost to setting up a growroom is so much should look into these?
i may be getting a 400watt kit to go along with the 400 that i already have in my room. I wish I had found this one before i got my 400 because i didnt even need the reflector in the small space i use.
