Lighting Question

If someone were trying to flower plants in space that was 4ft wide x 2ft deep x 4.5 ft high, how many watts should be used?

I'm concerned that 400 watt hps may put off too much heat, but maybe I'm wrong. Would a 250 watt work? or would that just be shitty?

Rule of thumb is to aim 50 watts per sq ft. for decent bud.

You have 8 sq ft x 50w = 400 watts.

Get a cool tube, duct and an in line fan to cool light.

I have a 600 W in a 3.5 x 3.5 foot space and the cool tube, works awesome and heat is not an issue.

Hope this helps
