Lighting question.

I have a 5x5 AC Infinity tent.
Maxisun PB-2000 (Middle)
2 Viparspectra P2000
I’ll show a couple pictures and info in link.
I’m just trying to see if this is enough coverage for the tent.

Personally I think your a little short.

But I'd run a few crops through flower before adding anything extra light wise.

I wouldn't trust the lights stated efficiency for a start and I'd prefer 750w in that space.

But like I say , grow some plants and add later

I think it's a little short too...I generally don't go under 30 watts per square foot...any more I usually do closer to 40 (actual draw at the wall)

I'm guessing that light is 200w?

That being the case I'd want 4 of them, I'd also be looking for 650w/700w in a 5x5.

I have a pb1500 I could throw in there also.
Right I’m right at 24watts per sq ft
Par… I forgot what it was at along the edges of the tent… I think it’s like 600ish.
I’ll test it in a bit n post that info.

I plan to get the Spider Farmer SE7000 when I get the money but that’s another 800$ so we’ll see.

It's not that you can't. We just trying to help you get bigger buds.

You may be happier with more small Boards rather than 1 big thing. Easy to move and versatility are a couple reasons. Light output is comparable per watt on these.

Yes I do this and run 2 vipar spectra and 1 Spider Farmer in each tent. If a light fails you have backups, Better PAR spread, a mixture of light spectrums and the ability to raise/lower individual lights.

This might help:

Two lamps that both draw 100W but one operates at an efficacy of PPE 1.0 µmol/J and the second lamp operates at an efficacy of PPE of 2.0 µmol/J. As the first lamp is only half as efficient, it will only produce half as much light (photons) as the second lamp. In other words, the second lamp will emit twice as much light as the first lamp but draw the same amount of power (watts).

The presumption of the watt/sq ft principle is: to figure out how many grow lights one needs for a grow space, all one has to know is the space’s area, a 3x3’ or 9 sq ft tent, for example. Then use the established “rule” for how much power a certain grow area needs.

Rule of thumb for watt/sq ft:
Low efficacy, generic “Amazon” lights (PPE: ~1.0 µmol/J): 50-60w/sq ft (525-640w/sqm)
Medium efficacy, “housing”-type lights (PPE: ~1.5 µmol/J): 30-40w/sq ft (320-430w/sqm)
High efficacy, panel with quality diodes (eg. Samsung, Osram), or (Cree) COB-type lights with high-end driver (PPE: ~2.5 µmol/J): 25-30w/sq ft (265-320w/sqm)

Agreed! To a point, more is better. It's a balancing act, you want the best light you can put in the tent, but you don't want to go past the point of diminishing return (bang for the buck).

Something different to consider, keeping your lights and changing your setup a bit. I have the same tent, and I actually prefer to do a “U” shape with a little opening in the front middle part. Even in a 4x4, it’s hard to reach everything when it gets crowded. I use 3 200 watt panels (spider farmer SF-2000), and have them setup like an upside down | _ | shape. With that style setup, I can access all of the plants to selectively defoliate, trim, topdress, water, or rotate as needed. it also avoids the hotspot of a large central light, and makes it easy to custom lower/raise lights for plants at different heights and different strains. It’s also nice for running a perpetual flower setup, and rotating in new plants.

I’m running a Phlizon FD6500 in a 5’ tent. But if I were buying today instead of 2 years ago I’d buy this one.

Yeah that’s nice price for sure.
From what I’m getting from you guys I think I’ll just add another PB2000 and run with that.
Being able to adapt the lights in different heights is a good point that my wife and I were actually talking about last night.
