Lighting for 4x2x5 Tent

You want between 30-40 watts per square foot during flower. Look for a light pulling an actual 240-320 watts and you'll be good to go.
I use (4) HLG qb120's on a 320 watt driver. Cost you around $250. You'll have to build a frame for the lights, and wire the lights to the driver, but its pretty simple.
HLG sells a kit with (2) qb288 rspec boards and a 260 watt driver, plus all the little things you'll need. HLG 260 Would be perfect for your tent size. I run a qb288 bspec in a 2x3 veg cabinet and love it.

Thank man!

I’ll definitely look into that. How’s the results been with that setup?

I know this is an old post but I run 4 120s I'm a straight line set up. Is switching to 288s x2 a better ppf for me . The charts I see it's double at least from a 120

One of the benefits of the 120s is they can be closer.
One of the negatives of 288s is they need to be further away.

I like em but I had a 2x4x5 and with the twin boards and my filter it didn't leave much room for the plants, pots ect.. I got round that by using 6 boards and running soft so they could be 6" above plants. I was lucky because I bought 10x boards when they were on a massive clearance, twas the ones they used a different diode on and then discontinued.

My advice to you would be if you really want to upgrade look at a bar light because they can be closer than boards , plus though I love QBs 2 in a 2x4 isn't ideal coverage. It works but it's not ideal.

But I presume I don't have the same ppfd obtained by running the boards in a square vs a straight line like I have to do with my closet shape .

No ventilation or filter necessary as this is only veg. No temp issues even if I switched to 288s I can handle almost another 10 deg.

Again I'm looking to give my plants more ppfd . The charts I've seen I'm barely giving my plants 250 at best. I'd rather push 500

Light is currently 16" above canopy
