Lighting Duration Question

Hey all,
I have two questions on lighting during veg mode.
I have a white widow that has been in veg for 4 weeks now. I have my lights timed to 12/12.
My questions are this: if I turn up the lights to 16/8, will my female turn into a hermaphrodite? If not, will this increased light increase bud size?

a. how long have they been on 12/12

b.do you want to flower under 16/8. because if that is question i believe they will reveg and not flower under that light regime. 14/10 might induce flowering but i do not see any reason for larger nugs but i dont really know. i know your thinking well more light = more energy = bigger yeild but i think maybe it wouldnt be in quite as strong of flower phase and produce not so big yeild.

You should have started at 18/6 or even 24 hours straight. When you want to flower them you change it back to 12/12. that is what makes the plant thinks it is almost fall and time to flower.
Since it sounds like you started at 12/12 you need to stay at that untill they are completely done.

I started them 18/6 during the veg stage. Then I moved the light to 12/12 to force flowering mode. It is flowering nicely for about 5 weeks now. I was only curious if I increased the light back to 18/6 if it would help with bigger bud growth.

Try less light & more dark time during flower to try increase yield 10/14 or 11/13. Beware of stress!

without at least 10 hours dark time (11 is safer) your plants will stop flowering and reveg. You can increase the on time to 18 hours if you want though and that would increase yield but you'll have to wait longer to harvest.

the reason your buds are going to be small is because you are going to fuck up the light cycle. dont do it, stay 12/12. mj flowers when the light cycle reaches 12 hours avery day. with fewer hours of darkness, the flowering will likely to be somewhat ambiguous, with some flowering, but continuous veg. growth. with more hours of darkness, the buds ripen more quickly, BUT there growth time is shortened, and then they reach maturity without growing to there full capabilities. the buds on your plants would have grown larger if they had been given the 12/12 regiment the hole time, hope this helps!!!!!kiss-ass
