Lighting after germination.Please help

Hello fellas,

I'm starting to veg my girl after germination and I wonder how much time to use a cfl 160w blue spectrum untill under 250w HM ? and what the distance should be from a cfl 160w to my plant ? 3 inch ok ?

hey dude , a pic of the plant. maybe some details on your setup , media and nutrients. I know basicly nothing about growing but it hasn't stopped me producing a heavy harvest of not quite a grade smoke , but a goood harvest nonetheless. and that was my first grow ever in clayballs recirculating system.
if you give me your details of setup and media. nute feed schedule and light schedule and roughly how old the plant is ill be able to give you very basic advice.

its not rocket science. just remember to read lots . don't get ahead of yourself and count a single chicken till its home.



with mary jane... water is life . its your best friend. start out slow. these nutrients are not as they claim and will not steroid up your plant. in the hands of an idiot I have seen dozens of good femenised seeds killed with kindness.

I recommend cyco ryzotonic at a rate of 1.00 m/ltr

nothing else exept good water until you get to atleast your fourth node.

and keep any lights atleast 6-8 inches above canopy. regardless of cfl. your babies will burn very easy.

I would vege for atleast 4 weeks before you even think about busting out a mh.

why not use. mh/cfl combo for vege and swap to a hps bulb for flower ?

Seedlings do not need much light. If she has more than three or four nodes going with leaves, you can get that light three inches away, but be careful not to burn her. That means checking more than once a day. if the light is too far away that will cause stretching, so make sure your plant is strong enough to hold itself up. If not give her some support and get the lights closer. Not so close she burns.

If the back of your hand can take it for twenty seconds, at that distance then go for it. If you feel some discomfort, then maybe go five inches.

Is ur mh air cooled, keep ur cfl on til u see 2 alternating nodes maybe more, there is no need to bombard small seedlings with hid light, been there done that lol

You can put her under the mh any time you want. I would use the cfls until she starts to reach for more light, then note the day, and go to your 400w.

160W is no prob. Close as 4". I veg under more than that. Veg under what u have for like two weeks than upgrade.
